The Current Airport (Departure) is the Red Dot on the map.
The Destination Airport is the Orange Dot on the map.
The Browsed Airport is the Yellow Dot on the map.
Click on the map to invoke the airport search about that location.
While clicking on the map hold down the SHIFT or CONTROL keys to limit the search radius and centre the map:

Circular areas marked around the departure airport designate travel time limits. The times set in Flight Generation present length of Flight Times From (Red) and Total Flight Times To (Orange). Yellow circular markings denote the current aircraft Range setting. (>augmented)
Map Notes: When clicking on the map, or using the Show Destination and Departure buttons, Shift and Control keys can alter the behaviour of the map scrolling and search radius.
Hold down the Shift Key to limit the search to the current aircraft range, or hold down the Ctrl Key and the world map will be centred on the chosen location.
Below the world map, the drop down list (Airport) contains the group of airports searched, or the airports listed as within the selected Region.
The right hand drop down list (Region) includes all the Countries found in FSX. The list also includes; airports with Parked Aircraft, the profile Favourites list, current Flights airports, and airports currently "Searched" at the top of the list. Flights airports being the list of airports searched for in Flight Generator. "Searched", being the list of airports found near the location clicked on the map with the mouse, and from text searches.
Click on the map to get a list of airports in that area. The nearest airport in the list is represented by the Yellow Dot. The list will be included under the Searched section in the right hand drop down list.
Random Airport: A random airport based on your aircraft criteria can be found using this popup menu -> submenu item. A random airport will be selected from the area within the zoomed map window. Choose New Departure button to go to the airport.
Random Destination: Chooses a random destination based on the Flight Generation criteria. A random airport will be selected from the area within the zoomed map window.
Random Route: Chooses a random departure and finds a random destination based on the Flight Generation criteria. The route will start from within the area shown by the map window. (>augmented)
Add to Favourites: Add the Browsed Airport to the Favourite Airports List.
New Destination: Create a flight to the Browsed Airport.
New Departure: The Current Airport can be changed to the Browsed Airport with the New Departure button, which will move the profile to that location. Ordinarily, Ideal Flight encourages you to actually fly to where you want to be next!
Search Edit Box: Type characters into the text edit box to search for occurrences within the airport names data. Any occurrences are presented in the drop down list, under Searched Airports.
Apply Airports Filter: Uncheck this to show all airports in range, even if the runway is too small to land or take off from, or there are no ILS systems, or in the case of rotorcraft; no helipads. Take a look at Aircraft Flight Parameters in the aircraft selection page for more information. The Filter items on Flight Generator page are disabled in the map when Apply Airports Filter is unchecked.
Note; Uncheck the "Show All" box for Airport Filtering per the flight generation page - flight generation filtering is unaffected by this checkbox.
This shows an enlarged airport map in the system default browser.
Show the HTML scenery list in your system browser.
View the html flight briefing with your default browser.
Favourite Routes: Store, Remove, and Commit favourite routes to the flight generator. The route departure and destination are loaded into the flight generator, and the current settings are applied to the generated flight, and plan.
Favourite Routes Notes: Keep text notes for favourite routes with your text editor. (>augmented)
Subsets are selected in the Flight Generator page airports filter section.
To work with the full range of subsets, go to the Flight Generator page and select the Complete Scenery Airport Set, otherwise only the current airport subset file can be chosen to add or remove airports.
Add the browsed airport to a subset, with the popup menu item: "Add Airport to Subset".
Add a selection of airports to a subset by choosing a Region Code, with the popup menu item: "Add Group to Subset".
Add a selection of airports to a subset by choosing a Country Name, or FSX scenery item, including add-on scenery, with the popup menu item: "Add Group to Subset". Automatically add all the airports in an add-on scenery pack. (>augmented)
Delete the browsed airport from a subset, with the popup menu item: "Delete Airport from Subset".
