I was using IF with my pmdg 737-800 ngxu, I did not test with other planes, but I noticed that when I went to reposition to a runway, I got "off ground" when I was at gate a1 , or something like that at KIAH. No matter what I did, I could not choose any other option but "off ground" at KIAH. Has anyone else reported this?

also, I reverted back to preview 14 and I can see my runways at KIAH for reposition

You need to try other planes because with some scenery I found that some of the PMDGs don't like the ground, I didn't work out what settings or scenery types cause it but didn't see that again after a wipe of P3D. I even found they might slide underground with some scenery.

In terms of choosing runways, since there's absolutely no difference from 14 to 15 something else is causing your changing results. You should go back to 15 and check back to back conditions. I would suggest some other aspect of your installation is causing the odd behaviour, Ideal Flight does nothing to the sim.

I found and fixed (in preview 16) an issue when setting non-automatic screen reader versions in the Other Settings window that could stop the program from functioning.

I am investigating a possible change in the way NVDA works with the title or heading of some dialogue windows that display the OK and Cancel options. Working OK with Narrator.

Coming back to this enquiry, it does not convey enough detail to make any assumptions of cause. I am unable to create the condition you encountered so before changing versions of ideal Flight, since in the case of 14 vs 15 there were no changes in the code to read in the runways or move the aircraft, it would be far better to restart the simulator to see if the problem persists. I suspect when you went back to 14 you also had restarted the simulator so it was not a valid test of deduction to fault find. Also, please try other planes and other places and also without other addons running. It would be handy if you get that condition again, to know what I can add to the simulator to create the issue.

NVDA change or bug:

With the latest version, NVDA 2021.1 just starts speaking out the window title and goes on too quickly to read out the OK button and so does not read out the full title and caption text.

With older versions (NVDA 2018.4.1) the title and caption are completely read out OK before moving on to the OK button.

Microsoft Narrator is also reading the title and caption OK.

So for example when we choose the Fly! menu item, the title and caption are read out by Narrator and older NVDA versions.

We should hear, "Ideal Flight: Starting Flight Simulator. Gatwick to Charles-De-Gaulle, EGKK to LFPG. Start flight simulator with the prepared flight? OK Button".

With the later version of NVDA only the start of the title is heard and followed too soon by "OK Button".

At the moment I don't know if the problem is temporary with only the latest version of NVDA or if this is a change to the way the program will work in future. I am considering the option to make Ideal Flight change the way the title and caption are handled for the different versions of NVDA.

...I have been checking the older versions of NVDA and it seems only the latest version NVDA 2021.1 misses out the title and caption text. Since Ideal Flight is designed to help NVDA (and Narrator) work as well as possible I'm hoping to find a solution that works OK with any version of NVDA. If not I'll hope to provide an optional checkbox to circumvent the odd NVDA behaviour by setting manually if the need be.

In other news, I have improved the performance of reading AIRAC Nav Data Sets which helps improve the Flight Build time. Also concerning AIRAC performance when using Ideal Flight AI traffic, especially selecting a large amount, I have fixed an issue that added a lot of unnecessary processing and could make the Flight Build process last a long time, possibly up to four minutes or more and appear as if Ideal Flight had stopped.

Also when using an AIRAC other than the AXE (Aerosoft Airbus X Extended) versions the briefing sections showing the Approaches are displaying an incorrect heading because on versions other than AXE AIRACs there is no heading value in the approaches data. The heading shown in the AXE AIRAC Approaches is that of the runway heading from the final waypoint or FAF (Final Approach Fix).

While working on the screen reader code I have fixed with NVDA where it might call out "Dot" at the end of a line. NVDA no longer calls out "Dot" and pauses properly between lines of text.

In terms of "off ground" and add ons all I'm using is p3d, active sky, ideal flight, pmdg and sim toolkit. I did not try with the a320 I think I still have, after this flight I'm doing now, I'll see if I can upgrade again to 15 and see if I can reproduce. Also I have not been restarting the sim as my computer right now is a mess so I've been doing a turn around state and flying out again. It works well actually with IF that way, as I have the sim start at the main menu.

IN doing some more testing, I did reproduce this with my a320 neo I normally fly. I even went so far as to make a flight plan and load like I normally do, I still got "off ground. I was at kpbx this time.

I tried to make the vid as quickly as possible, as I have to work soon, I did collect the IF logs from the "fake" session I did today. I have no clue if these will help but here.

Can you upload that as a .zip and I'll check it out. You just highlight the folder or files and choose "Send to zip" from the explorer window.
