Just packing up, I may have just found something. We can try again tomorrow with another interim build if you are OK with that.

I might be looking in the wrong place, have I got this right:

If a certain parking location is chosen in the flight generator, the FP error comes up when Assist is selected in the main menu, the Assist window does not appear until after OK to the error?

If choosing an OK parking in the flight generator, the FP error pops up when you attempt to move to that certain parking location in the Assist window?

Kind of right...

The first part you got right. When moving to a certain parking in the flight generator, or IF chooses it automatically when moving locations, when selecting assist in the main menu the error pops up. Pressing OK the assist window appears, but not as it should to a screen reader.

If you are in an OK parking and the assist window works, moving to a bad parking works as expected, but if you try to go to flight assist from the main menu from that bad location to adjust something else, the error will pop up.

I don't mind another test build.

:( still no luck. I've been using the Mooney Bravo for testing, and it puts me in a good location where it works. But I move to Gate A 12 at KLAX with flight assist. As soon as it moves there, I try to go back to the assist menu and once again get the error.

I love how this version did not scenery index after installing, though perhaps I should've manually done it? Either way, I think I would've had the same result.

Perhaps I should try with FSAD disabled? Let me know what you think I should try next.

I'm still not entirely sure what you are doing so I'm most likely looking in all the wrong places.

I am now reading you can pop up the Assist window - so is it OK at that point ?

Then you move to a specific location, namely Gate A 12 at KLAX - and that is OK ?

But then you say you try to go back to the assist window. Are you saying you select the Assist window again from the main menu and now it pops up the FP error ?

I really do need you to be more specific on what is going on or I won't understand where the error is coming from.

Regarding the indexing. You only need do that if you think the scenery has changed. Ideal Flight will always offer to reindex with new build numbers. So Preview 26 will offer to reindex.

:( nothing seems to be working.

I'm the only one getting it out of my group, so I don't know.

If you don't get the error either when at certain gates or get it after you move to one, I don't know how to reproduce it.

A 12 at KLAX, if I'm there and go to the assist window, I get the error. Same with A 4 at KPHL.

"Nothing working" is not a helpful explanation, are you saying that it is worse now? I have to have more precise information of your stage by stage working as it is a mystery exactly what is happening.

I get it that you have an error pop up at those locations but I don't know at what stage the error pops up. I think you don't get the Assist window if those parking locations are chosen already, or you get the error when changed to one of those locations but only after going to choose yet anther place - don't know for sure.

I believe the error is showing in a popup message with an OK, that has a description showing a blank field that can't be ascertained by the program as a floating point number. I'll keep looking into it but I may be looking in the wrong place, I'm not certain it is an IF error.

...the one possibility is that a certain traffic item is faulting in the sim and that location can't be read as a Lat/Lon. I can blanket trap those errors in the Assist window when it removes parking locations that are occupied. If I do that I can also add information to the Flight Log and allow the Assist window to continue without an error condition.

If this mod does not stop the problem then it's not in the Assist window but something else in the simulator that IF can't get reliable information from.

If the next build cures it we can look in your flight log after choosing Assist. I'll upload a new test shortly...
