Your settings in the aircraft flight parameters denote the preset speeds. First press of the throttle manager key puts you in speed adjust mode, starts at your speed and the forward and back keys change the speed setting by one knot. The second press of the throttle manager key puts you in speed presets mode, the forward and back keys change the presets. Your version takes a long time to set off from zero.

The next version controls the power more effectively and sets off better. The IF throttle manager works on a three second cycle and since it is designed to work with any plane, it must learn the power and inertia for each aircraft with a custom AI system.

Hmm. So, can we use it for takeoff for takeoff power? Should I set it to climb preset in that case? Just wondering how that'd work.

When I tested it previously I used Tramp to get me in the air because stuff like rotating etc is difficult, and then I turned off the regular aircraft autothrottle and tried to set the IF throttle manager to manage climb speed. It kept spooling the engines because it would go past the intended speed and pulled back to try to hold it, but would end up slowing too much so it'd just keep increasing and decreasing power. FSX Pilot has the same issues, but with it you have to go and tune throttle force etc with each aircraft.

I also tested IF throttle manager when in cruising and it also did this.

I wonder if it works with, say, the A2A C172. Takes a while to start that up but the sounds are really nice.

...only joking. :D

Reason for the delays right now are due to having the company year end to process, All done more or less, so I can continue moving Ideal Flight on without such terrible distractions.

P3D v5 in the pipeline with a free upgrade to current P3D v4 IFPro version license holders.

Lockheed doesn't offer a discount for those of us on P3D V4 for a year? :(

Usually it's a fresh fee to pay for each main version.

No worries, tax time is always difficult. I can only imagine what kind of paperwork goes into the end-of-the-year reports.

I've uploaded Preview 13 right now to avert a few issues. Thanks for all the support!

20/April/2020:

Latest IF versions include screen reader support and in-sim voice callouts by codelegend.com

Preview 13:

Ideal Flight Professional P3D v4
Ideal Flight 10 Professional P3D v3
Ideal Flight 10 Special Edition
Ideal Flight 10 Original

Please note only versions IFPro for P3D v4 and IF10SE>augmented for FSX feature the accessible Voice and Assistant functions.

Preview 13 fixes issues in the payloads settings and the runway predictions. There are several improvements in the Assist functions and Voice callouts, 11 hotkey info pages, plus more work put in to the throttle manager AI which is mostly for sedate aircraft at the moment.

In the voice settings checkboxes page the Kneeboard Speech will be changed to Information pages. The sim kneeboard key is now left alone so the Information Pages key will activate the current info page. The voice sets back and forward keys also move through the information pages when information is selected, like the speeds when the throttle manager is selected. Cycle the uses with the Assist Actions Cycle key.

Hi Steve,

When you load fuel manually, do the values such as reserve, taxi fuel, etc matter when adding manually?

Most of the time I just let IF handle the fuel based on range parameter, however an airline I fly for insists that everyone uses the values that SimBrief gives for their flights.

When I set payload to LB in the flight generator and put the value SimBrief gives it's amazing and I get the correct number every time for the most part.

Fuel is a different story and I hate using the P3D fuel/payload manager, and rather than just forego IF fueling and learning how to use it, I want to figure out why IF is not fueling properly when I add a manual quantity.

When I brought up the issue before, you said that you need some information. Can I find that information in the CFG? Max fuel of this aircraft is about 7500 gallons, so when I put 19000 LBS into the quantity for manual fuel, when it's set to outboard I should not get 996 gallons back out of a requested 2025 or so gallons. It does this when on even as well.

Other than that, I love the new preview. It seems to be a heck of a lot more snappier and responsive.
