[sf] is still under construction. Here is the FMC Navdata AIRAC Cycle selection almost completed:

...decided to put [sf] and [sg] together into [sf], hence a further delay, but I am hoping it will be well worth the wait...

I do apologise for the delays but we are finally coming into the home straight with the update [sf].

Why the goalposts keep moving? The feature richness of IF, the higher quality requirement of the update, and the way certain functions coexist within the program, have come together to necessitate keeping the product under further construction. To save time there have been no production builds for previewing so far. I will make preview versions available as soon as possible. I am very grateful to those of you helping in the background and awaiting previews.

This is your IF and I'm working non stop to provide the functions you need to progress with flight simulation.

In the upgraded version, the acquisition of NavDataPro and Navigraph data sets into the program has been dealt with in such a unique way and provides such unique functions, that IF is unmatched handling AIRAC cycle data with respect to it's coexistence with your FSX as it stands with your addon scenery and airports, and aircraft, more soon (Upgrade license required).

FSX weather is full of compromises but in the update [sf], IFs weather and dynamic environment systems completes the original design goals for the product. I'm having a job not flying.

More soon.

Steve,
I see you've gotten yourself a 3960x. Was it worth the price vis-a-vis FSX? My i5 at 4.5 gives me steady 20-25 thanks to a couple of tweaks in the fsx.cfg.

Hi tc,
Machine has nothing to do with personal choice or performance in FSX, but rather acts as a development machine with swap out cover and data redundancy and is aimed at getting that job done as fast as possible. The CPU just came with a higher spec cooling system, it wasn't a CPU choice, instead I'm keeping it quiet with little fuss from fans. However the sim runs perfectly smooth at all times, it's not OCd.

The trouble with AIRAC data sets is they don't necessarily contain the same airports as the sim. When you choose an AIRAC cycle in IF, the indexing process keeps note of the airports common to both AIRAC cycle and the simulator scenery, and makes an airports subset. With the AIRAC Common Subset you can be sure your flights only take you between existing airports in the sim AND in the cycle to be compatible with the loaded cycle in the plane.

Hi Steve,
I figured that, but as so many people are trying to figure out how cpu muscle affects fps, it's not often that a FSX simmer like yourself has such a cpu to comment on. So I was just curious. I, too, am very happy with my frame rates, and have stopped tweaking.
I suspect that, going forward, people will run into memory issues due to the many addons rather than fps due to cpu.
