...there are three NGXu BW aircraft installed; PMDG 737-800NGXu BW, PMDG 737-900ERNGXu BW, PMDG 737-900NGXu BW. Perhaps you can re-check if have added the .cfg variation section to the correct aircraft folder.

The path for the new files should be "\texture.WAT".

There's no need to re-index aircraft when variations are altered, deleted or added. The variation list in the Ideal Flight aircraft selection page is simply taken directly from the aircraft.cfg [fltsim.n] sections.

Orinks wrote:This is the first time I've had to deal with liveries/variations of an aircraft.
I put the texture folder in the aircraft folder and added the necessary information to the aircraft CFG file in the PMDG blended winglet version.
But when I reindex aircraft in IF, the new livery/variation doesn't show up under the BW PMDG 737. I notice that with some if it's not done right the new variation will show up as a completely new aircraft and not as a variation of an existing one in the list.
It appears in the aircraft selection of the sim itself so not sure what's going on with IF not detecting it.

In the simulator choose vehicle section, it shows all models and variations. The Ideal Flight aircraft selection page shows variations on a per-model basis. Therefore, on the Aircraft selection page, you need to choose the model you added the variation to, to find that variation in the corresponding variations list below. What I'm thinking is that you might have added the variation to one model, but in Ideal Flight, you searched for that variation in another model. However, the variation will show in the simulator list whatever you did.

Installing the variation here works OK.

Unfortunately, the information passed to me about the variation issue is way too scant for me to determine the cause of the problem and I can only provide guesses. I have been unable to find any problems in Ideal Flight related to variations.

Inadequate information about problems leads me to make too many guesses and wastes a lot of time.

Example: I have an enquiry about the Assist window Move to Location list. The enquirer states that sometimes when choosing a location like a parking spot the OK button stays disabled. The enquirer states that if the aircraft is first moved by GSX, the Assist window OK button will become enabled and Ideal Flight can move the aircraft to parking. Other than this I have no more information and have not heard back. The Flight log shows problems in the Assist window. However, the enquirer, although asked to do so, didn't send me the log. So this problem remains unknown to me.

Just in case it is something to do with Ideal Flight, are any other users finding problems in the Assist window?

1/October/2021:

Preview build 17:

Ideal Flight Professional P3D v4/5
Ideal Flight 10 Professional P3D v2/3
Ideal Flight 10 Special Edition
Ideal Flight 10 Original

The latest IF versions include screen reader support, versions 10_027 and 10_014 include in-sim voice callouts and flight assist functions.

Please see the report page for more details:
http://www.codelegend.com/idealflight/report.htm

If all is OK these will hopefully be the last preview build in phase 3 and be uploaded to Flight 1 and designated as the general release versions. The development will then continue in phase 4.

I finally managed to reproduce a situation in the Assist window disallowing the selection of certain parking spots so that the OK button remained disabled, now fixed. Also, I have improved the way the Assist window finds the occupied parking spots and now includes helicopters in the check since helicopters can also occupy parking spots.

The download page now has the latest versions of Ideal Flight:

http://www.codelegend.com/idealflight/download/default.htm

The delays to progressing with Accessibility phase four is due to Windows 11 and Prepar3D v5.3 emerging.

For the remaining P3D v5.3 changes, an update to Ideal Flight Professional will be made available soon in the new year. These changes are mainly concerned with how the CPU Gauge and Window are set up. In the meantime the affinity settings in P3D v5.3 should be made in the Prepar3D.cfg manually.

After that, Accessibility phase four will get underway.
