Citation Mustang - permanent traffic alerts

Postby Rakk » Tue Oct 25, 2011 8:44 am

Hey

Great new product - using the trial - loving it so far but appreciate there'll be teething probs.

I found an odd problem when flying using a genuine installation (paid for) Flight 1 Cessna Citation.

Into the flight, about 3000 ft I begin receiving permanent traffic warnings which after a while eventually cause a crash of FSX> worth noting this didn't happen using the Beechcraft vanilla flight on installation

It's really quite odd - the "traffic" is actually right on top of my Citation, but travelling due East from my bearing.

Anyway - if it's of help here's my setup:

FSX maxed to accel etc.
GEX Europe
UTX Europe
REX weather engine
Traffic X

Got any tips for me?

It could be this aircraft may be seeing the IF temperature sensing object as it moves around the terrain.
We can check that by setting the Thermal and Ridge currents off in the Weather page.
Let me know how that goes. You may need to turn off the aircraft proximity detector if that is the issue.

scrap that, I tested the citation...
still try it with Thermal and Ridge off

another thing, citation is big on resources, try a default fsx.cfg

I have to hand it to you Steve- you really do look after your customers. Nice pleasant change.

OK - since my post I have reset fsx.cfg using http://www.venetubo.com/fsx.html.

I also reinstalled Traffic X (it hadnt felt right for a few runs anyway)

Hey presto - no more perma-traffic.

Still have the old cfg if you'd like a copy but good news is that the problem has gone away.

I'm certainly tempted to buy after such a welcome refreshing approach to user care and support.

Keep it up

Great news.

Well you are going to like the new version which is being held back a day or so for special attention. Uploading before the weekend.

Try turning off the IF Thermal & Ridge engine, that places a temperature sensing object around, could be the proximity detection is thinking that is a plane, it is an invisible object with no dimentions. If it turns out to be that, turn off the proximity detection in the aircraft.
