10rr Flight generator - strange behaviour

Postby jpmes » Sat Jun 09, 2012 9:54 pm

Hi Steve,

First of all congrats for the new interface. It looks much better !

Now the problem : the flight generator doesn't like some departure airports. I.e :

- when I select 1S2 (Darrington)as the departure airport in the "Browse airports" page, searching for a destination in the flight generator page gives me a list of airports I can fly to according to the filters I have set. Normal :-)
- when I select nearby 3W5 (Concrete) as the departure and click on search on the flight generator page using the same filters, the search takes forever and when I click anywhere on the interface, the program hangs.

I did a complete scenery and aircraft index which didn't help.

Any ideas ?

Hi,
Well, after a lot of searches, found no problems. Do you have an addon airport in the area or addon scenery with airports in the area?

Yes, Orbx PNW and Orbx 3W5, Darrington is also upgraded to a lesser extend by Orbx PNW.

Tried it but sorry, no joy. Here's some more stuff that might help :

When I search for 3W5, the runway width is only 3 feet

https://dl.dropbox.com/u/60090388/3w5.jpg

When I select 3w5 by clicking on "New departure", Browsing airports on the the left displays information about 3W2 ?

https://dl.dropbox.com/u/60090388/3w2.jpg

Now, another Orbx payware airport : KORS
It's in the database but when I try to select it as the departure, I'm asked if I want to move to KBDR

https://dl.dropbox.com/u/60090388/kors.jpg

It all seems related to addon airports.

Also, compared to previous versions (before you changed the interface), searches seem much slower.

Hope this information helps somehow

...'takes longer in searches' gave me the clue I needed and led me straight to the problem, bizzarly to do with drawing the map. I'll get pre2 out for a test later if I can...
thanks for helping

downloaded the upgrade and trying to fly YBCG-YSSY or YSBK
The input is acknowledged and correct airports displayed but then the "blue circle" just keeps going around but nothing happening

I've some of the ORBX addons too. Here are some of my findings, hope it may help:

-If I select 3W5 I get 3W5 not 3W2. But it states also 3ft runway width. Same with Darrington 1S2

-I also can not select KORS it want's to redirect me to KBDR too. It is also not possible to select 74S Anacortes -> redirects to 21H.

-I tried PAKT (ORBX too) I can select it and it says current airport pakt but on the left side in "browsing aitports" there is PABE, usually after selection I found the same airport like the current one. It is the same with KBVS.

current ver. rs1
