I will upload the aircraft.cfg's of both the failing plane that fails to load fuel correctly followed by the correct one. With the plane that works, I can load less than the calculated range amount, more than it, etc, and the briefing is always correct. If the briefing is correct I always get the right amount of fuel.

The only difference is the range you have set in parameters. If the range that is set produces a calculated required value that is greater than your manual entry then you see a remainder in the briefing. If you set your range larger then you will get a calculated value that shows less fuel required. If that is now less than your manual entry you don't see the remainder. In future I'm showing positive and negative difference from calculated. Calculated has no merit if your range and parameters are not set and you don't follow those parameters precisely.

I'm not getting any "wrong" values showing in the plane. if the plane has a "different" amount than you requested manually it is because it does not load so much as to overflow the maximum payload or to overflow the actual tank size.

Okay, here's the FSAerodate add-on.xnl file.

Thanks. And in the simulator Options, Add-ons, you have fsAerodata checked?

...If you go into the IF Map page or Flight Gen page and select the View Scenery list, do you have entries for fsAerodata there?

e.g. Active, Package.4: C:\Users\you\Documents\fsAerodata Files\Navigation Data\Navaids

The fsAerodata is added with the xml method and is read in a different way to the original FSX method. The briefing does not include details from the xml version. I will put that in for the next build.

I can't find the view scenery list in the flight gen page, nor on the browse airports screen. Is that a button labeled as such?

Scenery list is in the escape menu. Better to wait for next preview so I can fix it up properly, no need to worry about it just now.

With fsAerodata and AIRAC navigation data sets, these are only really necessary if you are going to actually need current navigation data, which changes a little month on month.

We only need that data if we are using an aircraft that uses an AIRAC, or importing a plan made from those navigation data sets. We also might need it in an online situation whereby the organisation demands recent navdata.

Otherwise there's not really any need for any of those changes.

With those data sets the scenery will only match the data if the runways are updated including the MAGVAR and the global magnetic variation file is updated to suit the scenery. So unless everything fits in perfectly, you will be in a mess with data, plans, scenery, runway directions and magnetic variations.

Running the stock sim with aircraft tuned to the scenery navigation will give perfect results. However using added ATC, planners, aircraft and other programs that refer to AIRAC data will necessitate you must go out and buy all those extras.

Ideal Flight gives you the best of both worlds, it works with stock sim and also works with AIRAC and scnery changes if installed. That does not mean that it can work properly or reliably, since that is determined by all your other programs, data, scenery and planes all matching up. In general that's not the case in the majority of systems because not many people realise that there will be differences across all those add-ins.

Yes, Vatsim more or less stresses the need for updated navdata.

FSAerodata updates the magvir table.

But agreed, if you don't fly online or any of that you don't need it.

I've uploaded support of fsAerodata and also included the modifications to the manual fuel load.
