Okay, I was able to figure it out.

Here's the bad news. I haven't even gotten to installing FSAerodata, just Traffic Global. I still get the exception. Only after installing TG though and not before. Also, the exception only occurs when either parked specifically at a gate, or when I move to a gate from a parking and
go back to the assist page again.

Solution is to disable airport facilities scenery from the scenery library so that IF doesn't index it. I'm not sure what this does with TG.

So, stock sim with only Traffic Global as of now.

You installed TG 1.1.1.5? Followed by running the simulator so that the setup is finalised and the sim can reindex itself? After that run IF and allow to reindex. There would be no difference to what I have here.

I built a flight to start at KLAX gate A 12 and can move between gates and back to A 12 without Ideal Flight detecting an error in the parking locations.

I actually just installed 1.1.5. Sadly, that didn't make a difference. I think I was one version behind.

Seems obvious that you didn't install Prepar3D fresh because you didn't rename all the folders and you picked up the old problems.

You didn't say if you tried unchecking the Options Add-ons before attempting to install a fresh P3D which is what I said to try first.

Anyhow if you have the Old folders:

C:\Users\you\Documents\Prepar3D v4 Add-ons Old
C:\Program Files\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4 Old

Then you still have your addons installed so keep those handy since you can copy those into the new installation and the addons are installed as they were.

Maybe try again - remove all the new folders and install a fresh copy of Prepar3D making sure that there are no original folders before starting - check through the list I made earlier.

As far as I can tell, there's no way you could have a different result to me since it's the same files as I have. The TG bgl doesn't change and the settings in the app can't alter the scenery, P3D is set to 50% traffic and there's aircraft flying around so it seems to work OK.

..I have tried all the settings in Traffic Global, rebuilt the database etc. and set 100% traffic but have not been able to create a problem with it so far. Maybe you should completely delete that TG installation and folders and reinstall that clean with 1.1.1.5.

Yes, I actually did try unchecking all of the addons under the addons menu before a fresh copy.

I'm not sure what folders I have to delete manually for a completely clean TG installation. I assume the Traffic Global documents folder and the folder found in the C drive/program files...

Yes!

From Control Panel, Uninstall a program first.

Next delete the folders:

C:\Users\you\Documents\TrafficGlobal
C:\Program Files (x86)\TrafficGlobal

While the TG BGL doesn't change, I think the key thing is to look at the TG airport facilities scenery and figure out what that does. If I unload that from the scenery library, the assist page works great in all instances.

Yet, it's working fine for you with it on since it's enabled in the sim with that setup wizard...

Going to try for a complete installation of TG I guess. I still have the Prepar 3D V4 old folders so can copy them back if I can figure out this issue. Or not. If I can't I'll just have to keep the scenery unloaded I guess.
