Isn't it just because there's tabbing through four controls between the manual fuel entry from manual payload entry. Other users just stab with a mouse click so it's not a concern going to each. Perhaps reorganising with less tabbing. Are you setting manual very often then? I rarely touch anything once set up.

I'll be looking at the desired changes to the payload and fuel controls in a following build.

In the meantime, so that we can have a direct GPS route to a new runway decision, I'm very near to completing outputting a simple automatic new approach plan when changing the approach from the Assist window. I'll be uploading Preview 18 when that's done. It's kind of a phase one for that and only allows runways from the airports in the original plan.

Assist form now handles replanning the approach to a different runway. If the runway has ILS or LOC then that frequency is installed into the currently selected NAV Radio. The HSI OBS heading is set up for the new runway also.

In the latest build the parking brakes are set and unset when using the throttle manager. Holding the brakes in while stopped will set the parking brake after a few seconds.

The Assist window has a new control with the list of runways available from the current flight build. We can change runways at any time but this is intended for when we get near to the destination and we want to change the runway in the GPS plan. The new plan only includes a computed approach with computed waypoints to the runway end (so far). This is intended for use as a simple and alternative way to selecting a new approach in the FMS or GPS Gauge.

Reading back through the discussion it was mentioned about setting the Kohlsman millibar altimeter. The Kohlsman can be set with the 'B' key usually. Also mentioned was setting the vertical speed and holding altitude. I'm adding controls so those can be simply typed in to a box in the Assist window. Setting for frequency in the NAV radio and also adjusting heading bug and OBS will also be included.

If anyone can think what they are missing during flight please comment here so that I can include additional controls.

In future when setting Nav frequency and OBS I will be sticking to Nav 1 and OBS 1. In the assist window we can now individually set flight level, vertical speed, Nav 1 frequency, OBS 1 compass heading, Flight heading bug, ADF heading, and Kohlsman Altimeter Millibars, directly by typing in the box provided, all set up with accessible readouts.

...I may revise the Nav selector function slightly when finally working because normally when we select Nav 1 that OBS is on the HSI gauge and Nav 2 is the VOR OBS. Will have to find how things pan out as I was thinking only to enable the HSI OBS for Nav 1...

Several improvements to the Assist functions. Plenty more to do yet, but should help in the meantime.

There were a couple of places that spoke out the heading including MAGVAR that I forgot to limit between 0 and 359 degrees giving readings greater than 359 degrees because negative MAGVAR such as -2 degrees is expressed as 358 degrees.

I'm improving the way the Kohlsman setting and the speed setting is applied in the Assist window. Changing barometric pressure is reflected in both MB and InHg Kohlsman controls. Setting a speed, not choosing the preset, will set the throttle manager to speed incremental control if presets control is selected.

I am now able to spend some time improving the throttle manager, so far I've improved the handling of throttle while on the ground at low speeds.

Note that where usually Taxi Speed is 20 knots, in the Flight Generator Page choose for example 18 knots or less so that 20 knots is not breached when setting off, Parking speeds are half taxi speed.

I have set up the throttle manager to use the current speed when engaging. So for example If we are at 100 knots and we engage the throttle control, the speed will be 100 knots rather than starting at zero. If we move to the throttle presets the nearest preset speed is chosen. This makes it much more fluid to use the throttle manager.
