First, I'm still alive. Now for the assumption.

I assume that once you edit the briefing.html file it will stick for every flight thereafter? I'm just playing catch up after being absent for a few months. So if this has already ben answered, pretty please let me know, sans liver.

Thanks for such a wonderful software.

I'm very glad to hear you are OK.

Notepad edits would only be temporary for that one briefing. A new build will recreate the texts all fresh. I'll look at how those items are organised within the sections.

Incidentally: Although doesn't help in this case, the briefing can have custom sections added and utilise html links to other documents as well, on a per aircraft and per profile basis. There's a section in the help system refers to it. So you can create a checklist per plane to appear in the briefing, and a per profile special entry too.

I set up a flight with no fuel time for taxi, hold, and reserve and a range set to 1250. Did the flight adhering to speeds, climb, cruise, descent, approach, final. Started the flight from the runway, ended the flight moving with the assist to parking.

The debrief calculated the range based on using the actual fuel used on that flight - not an estimate, but the actual fuel consumed. Range was 1430 which I put in the Range parameter overwriting the previous Range value used of 1250.

The fuel weight on the first flight was 139 Lb and the new fuel weight with the new range value was 126 Lb. Repeating the flight I had just a spit more than the unusable load. So the Ideal Flight fuel calculation was perfect, for that flight.

However I spotted a couple of errors in the figures you are hearing in the reports, fuel weight remaining pounds and kg is wrong, but the amount in Gallons is correct. I may have found another error in the de-brief. Also the Voice assistant information page 2 fuel report does not recalculate so use the Fuel report in the menu first before relying on the information page 2.

I'll be fixing those errors before continuing with work on the v5 conversion. The v5 conversion is 95% ready but I have yet to include some of the new scenery changes.

Hi Steve,

I have fixed the issue with my fuel calculations. I've planned two flights where it has worked so far. I changed the weights that Ideal Flight gives specific for this aircraft such is empty weight, etc. I changed everything I could to have SimBrief match the plane specifications. I'm glad to know that my range is also pretty accurate now.

I'll be very interested to know if P3D V5 will have better performance on this computer. Perhaps a slight increase, but sadly this computer only has integrated graphics. I hope FS2020 will run with that. P3D V4 runs but I have to keep things low, as expected. My internet specs I'm not worried about for FS2020.

Look forward to the next build where the fuel report bugs and briefing field is fixed. Never really noticed the fuel report bug actually.

OK! Those fixes are a priority. The quick section could have an order setting - will give it some thought.

I used the throttle manager all the way on those test flights to maintain speed. Seemed to work quite well on the Mooney considering the 4 second sample rate. Takes a bit of time to home in to the set speed, and takes longer when changing from level flight. So I'll have another tweak there at some stage.

Testing the navigation with a flight built to an ILS and the preset cockpit already and the GPS loaded already, I switched to NAV 1 during the later part of the approach going into the 30 degree off runway approach and waited till I got LOCALIZER call to set Autopilot Approach and then I got the GLIDESLOPE call and landed OK on the throttle. Would be good when we have some assistance in landing added soon. Also coming is a list of runways to choose from in the Assist form which will set up the cockpit with the ILS.

P3D v5 is quite heavy on the system and requires a more recent GPU to handle DX12 and also consumes double the storage.

Hmm...

Is it possible to change the runway for takeoff so that, perhaps, the IDF fix could be chosen based on it?

Reason I ask is that IF will create the IF custom waypoints for the runways it predicts, but when on Vatsim they'll sometimes give a different one.

Can't really exit the flight, go to the flight gen page and change the runway there... and start the flight again.

Also, does the new system you're implementing also work without an ILS glideslope?

Yes it's handy to have the IDF. Is it possible to find out what they are using or what the winds are before building the flight? Then choose the runways by setting the winds on the IF weather page. Also can rebuild the flight with the Edit plan button and choose the runways then.

Yes hoping to emulate ILS where there's none.

Thanks!

I have found a problem with certain Task Bar settings that can cause IF to not resize properly - fixed in next update.
