I do get a lot of mail about IF and how it facilitates the use of FSX; it seems FSX can almost be a way of life for some people. Because of that and the massive support I've received, and if I can keep doing the work, I'll keep improving IF all the while there is interest in FSX/P3D. For the time being, I'm making IF do what folks want it to do, as long as it fits with the IF theme.

Hi Steve!

Didn't know that, sorry!

Year end accounts done - I'm 100% working on IF now - delays are behind.

Looking forward to the fruits of your hard work Steve. I've rebuilt my FSX on a bit of new hardware and have refrained from installing IF until the new update to get the full experience. It's been tough doing without, but no doubt it will be worth the wait. As always, your continued improvements are very much appreciated.

All the best.

Been three days without IF due to waypoint issues in AH. And with solo IF. I must say it's not the same. Just the kneeboard feature alone is in my opinion fulfilling fsx flights.

Just waiting for the update now that completes everything in my day to day flight

gooooo steve! Drive safe!

Cheers

Talk about overcast conditions around lately make it sound like something new, but IF's had a range of overcast situations since the start, checkout the cl site front page. None the less I've included a broad range of improvements to the IF global weather simulation, including increasing the types of overcast conditions a hundred fold. Here's a shot from last night:

The new route approach type selects from the available published approaches for the SID/STAR. Here the FAF is selected for approaches featuring simply the Final Approach Fix, or an equivalent is computed if no real waypoints or navs are available, or if the Fix is too far off route.

Image

The Fix FF18, is the FAF and shows the published approach altitude.
LAP is the nearby VOR which is 0.8Nm away from the chosen runway centre on a heading of 185 magnetic.

If the TOC and TOD are omitted the route times are calculated as if the TOC and TOD remain located since the parameters for the flight dictate the climb, cruise and descent stages and these along with approach, departure, and landing times are all calculated carefully for an accurate flight time and fuel calculation. IF's fuel planner is probably the most accurate available as it relies on the actual performance of the simulated aircraft in the simulated atmospheric conditions.

Hi Steve im not too sure if its been covered but I have an "idea" that may help the program out.

Would it be easy to implement a set arrival airport and let IF search for appropriate departure airports set with in the flight parameters..
I lot of times I find myself with lots of great add on scenery to depart from but end up landing in a crappy default airport..
And having the option to change this would be great as you could fly in and get great all round immersion from 3rd party sceneries on appoach..

Ps im a massive fan of IF as it is and with all you have planned for it, I simply cant wait!!
IF has breathed a fresh breath of life into FSX for me!! Much appreciated mate

Hi Josh,
We already do this the following way: At our desired arrival airport, run the random next flight arrow icon, but then from the menu choose reverse route. It could be done in a single menu item or something. I'll look into it. I think you're going to be pleased with the coming update [sf]. Thanks for your interest and kind words.
