Hi Steve,

Thanks for the quick reply to where I had originally purchased the software. I have been using it today and it is wonderful.

I'd like to suggest 2 little additions to the briefings.

1)Would it be possible to add airways as in a real flight plan? This would make CDU programming much faster.
2)Would it be possible to add the wind directions in degrees, that would also make it a bit easier to plan arrival runways without having to figure out what NNW or SSE translates to.

I really appreciate your commitment to this software. It's the best little add-on around. Ideal Flight puts back the fun in FSX.

1. Do you mean the airway route names? The name at the end of the route table for each waypoint is the actual airway route name. Is this what you mean?
2. If you scroll down to the Quick section of the briefing, the degree values fo wind are there.

Yes, I mean the airway names themselves, like UL995 or UB34. A flight plan includes these airway names in the build.

ie. TIBER UL995 BRD UL612 ARA UB34 NEMES

Where UL995 UL612 UB34 would be the airways. As it stands, IF would show the flight plan as
TIBER BRD ARA NEMES

This little bit of extra information would be priceless for those of us who program their CDUs manually before a flight.

Hi,

I'm just adding an "Airways" entry to the Quick section after the "Route" entry.

The Route entry is just the waypoints list, the Airways entry will be the longer version of Route but with the airway designation listed between each waypoint.

I am presuming the Airways entry is only required with routes that "Follow Airways"? Would you use the same information for VOR to VOR routes, although these are not strictly following the route where intersections are ignored?

I've included the route+airways list with all routes except the "Direct to Destination" variation.

The pure "VOR to VOR" routes still follow airways loosely but mix high and low types and hop between routes to go more direct.

Route: EGFF DIN NTS LFBU
Airways: EGFF - DIN A25 NTS A25 LFBU
