Thanks for that, exactly what I was thinking.

The Ideal Flight framework can do a lot of stuff, so any further ideas are most welcome.

Another idea I had was waypoint crossing callouts.
Its your Plane used to have a feature where it would tell you the waypoint you were currently crossing, how many miles to the next waypoint, and the heading/baring of the next waypoint.
With IF, perhaps along with all of that it should also give you the name of the next waypoint as well. Since this idea was inspired by Its your Plane, it announced the waypoint names phonetically, but perhaps this should be optional and can be changed based on personal preference.

Another idea that would be helpful, again inspired by Its your Plane, is to announce when a particular heading is reached. If I put a value of 240 into the heading of the autopilot, IF should confirm it by saying 2 4 0, and then when the aircraft is turned to 240, say something like "current heading 240".

I have a number of Its your Plane videos on my channel, some with video, some with audio only because I couldn't get OBS to capture sims easily.

Here's one to possibly add some more speech stuff to IF, minus the voice control, and may spark some other ideas.

I've improved text for readers to separate end of lines more clearly from the following text line when reading multiple lines or pages.

I was beginning to think will be Christmas before I have something to report.

However things have moved on a little quicker than I expected.

The speech module is now working reliably in house. This advanced program communicates with Ideal Flight and runs on cores away from the main cores used by the simulator, so not to disturb the running performance of the simulation.

I'll be using this method to fill in for where the screen readers can't read, and this module will soon be set up for reporting events and properties of the simulator and be configurable - this is the easy bit.

Sounds good. You say separate program, so does this run inside Ideal Flight or will we have to download this as a freeware download separate from IF?

Is this also the program that will be able to do autotaxi, landing, etc? I suppose you haven't gotten to any of that stuff, so just looking forward to the speech stuff that is currently inaccessible.

The Voice comes in the pack and installs with the usual Update button, nothing to do ourselves. It's a separate exe that runs the Voice under commands from IF.

On the "Other Settings" page at the bottom we can enable the Voice and choose the speaker and set the speaking rate and volume. A settings window will be available to choose options.

When I have that operating I will then be looking into the flight assistance.

Hello,
I just want to first Introduce my self, and say Thanks for welcoming me abord.
I'm so pumped up for this release or this testing period, that well, I'm super excited. The fact that some day we'll be able to fly the planes our selvs, without having to worry about landing, or staying on course is a wonderful idea.
Eventually what I'd like to be able to do is perform the full checklist, from start to finish, launch, and land regardless of approach, and regardless of the way the plans are generated (from simbrief or if). Currently for me because of fs tramp, I haven't completed a flight with Ideal flight and Pro ATC yet. FS tramp actually on my last flight, actually got me within 8 miles of the airport, then began to rise to higher altitudes before taking me away from the landing area.

Okay, so here's a problem that I hope can someday be solved with this new IF system.

Aircraft that won't lift off due to trim not being set correctly. I just downloaded a 747 where, thankfully, the fuel scalers are correct as I have a realistic maximum fuel load.

In any case, trim callouts would be great so when pressing end, we know what degree it is. Even better, if we can type the trim degree into an IF dialog so we don't have to press the trim command as it goes up by 0.1 degree each time from what I've heard.

Keep up the great work Steve.
