I have a navigraph subscription. Can this be used instead of the navdatapro from aerosoft.

Yes, get the navdata set for the Airbus X Extended is best, or the PMDG set is good too, esp. if you are using the PMDG.

On the startup page popup menu, use the AIRAC selector to point to the directory with the base files of the dataset. Check out the help lots more in there about datasets and file exports and locations.

IF10 uses a dataset just like the Airbus X Extended. But can load PMDG, iFly, and Level-D. The idea is you can use the AIRAC selector to point to the very data your PMDG or iFly is using in the FMC. Or you can expand a AXE dataset into the IF10 dataset folder provided in the IF10 program files location.

I am using the Majestic Q400. From what I read, this aircraft is now supported. Do I still use the nav data set for pmdg etc. or the q400 directly from navigraph.
Its been difficult to find a complete comprehensive program like yours that supports the q400. I am looking forward to giving this a go

IF10 only loads the Q400 database for the export process. But all the sets are more or less the same, the AXE and PMDG most comprehensive. If you've not got the PMDG or AXE, download the AXE set from Navigraph and expand it into:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Ideal Flight 10\NavData
and use the IF10 popup menu AIRAC selector to point to the folder that contains the base files; airports.txt, navaids.txt, etc.

..the Q400 export module comes with [sg], you will need the preview version available in the New Builds section. [sg] production version out soon.

Once you've made the Q400 Export item in the export files window, you need not set it again. From then on, every time you build a new flight, the required work is done for the next flight with the Q400.

In Plan Type select one with 'Approaches'.
In Mission page 'Approaches and Departures', choose from Computed Approach, FAF, and so on.

The available SID or STAR is not entered into the GPS plan by IF10, but the plan is made between the exit and enrty points of the most likely SID and STAR. With SID and STAR the GPS plan also contains the IDF and FAF. The routing between the transition and the FAF/IDF is up to your FMS input at the time.
