Random weather options

Postby stevemurrell » Fri Feb 28, 2014 5:27 pm

Hi Steve.
IF's weather severity settings are great fun to play with but I was thinking that the option to generate random weather across the range of good to bad would introduce an exciting element of unpredictability into a flight, much as you get with real world weather. The ability to set weather randomly within specified limits would be cool, departure and arrival scenarios possibly being very different.

Thanks Steve.
Good Idea! To an extent the fictional weather in IF10 can turn out a little different to the forecast, but you have some good points. I'll work on it.

I'm putting Random Weather in, but for it to work, the randomised weather is worked out ahead of the briefing, so that the runways are selected properly.

By the way: Anyone going from RWW programs, should remember that FSUIPC wind smoothing is not required with IF10 Weather. Also make sure your fsx.cfg Weather settings are default (delete the section and it will be recreated by FSX next startup), often other weather programs change settings in FSX Weather.

[sg08] in Newbuilds section: Choose random weather in the "other weather settings" window. I found this reduced my flying time to flight building time ratio, due to keep pressing rebuild till I was happy with the weather.
