AIRAC

Postby morsoft » Wed Feb 05, 2014 7:35 pm

Hi
Do I need a third party aircraft to be able to use the AIRAC data in the augmented expansion? I do not have any but would like to use real life data.

Thanks
Mal

Hi Mal,

Once you've unlocked >augmented, there's a downloadable AIRAC dataset based on the advanced NavData set for the AXE, compliments of NavDataPro. Look in the help index - AIRAC. It's a .zip you can extract install wherever you like and use IF10 Choose AIRAC to point to it. There's a handy folder created in Progfiles\IdealFlight you can use, this is used by the Aerosoft NavDataPro program when installing the latest AIRACs.

Once you've unlocked >augmented, on the startup page there's a new menu item, you can choose an AIRAC, and not "Integrate", and IF10 will simply use the published SID/STAR information for departures and arrival routes and use the existing navigation and waypoint data in the sim.

If you chose to integrate the AIRAC you will only see the Airports, Navaids, Waypoints, and Airways from the AIRAC and routes will be based on the Airways in the AIRAC.

When the AIRAC is integrated, the runway and ILS frequencies are from the AIRAC, but if you are using a non AIRAC driven FMC or regular aircraft, the BIAS can be switched to SIm Bias, which chooses the frequencies from the sim.

Thanks for your interest.

Thanks Mal, I've put a lot of effort into the navdata side of things, but there's plenty more than that to explore and discover throughout >augmented. All the best.
