Simulation Rate ?

When I select to move to next way point or time frame.. It appears the flight gets reloaded as if I had saved a flight when at the requested advanced point.
This plays havoc with PMDG JS4100 as it doesn't save panel states...
Perhaps the program could simply increase the sim rate until the requested time or way point had elapsed.

Yes it saves the flight, adjusts the flight file, then loads the flight.
True, some addon aircraft don't restore fully from an FSX .FLT save game file. I'll look into your idea.
All the best

The whole saved flights situation is really one of the big downfalls/shortcomings of FSX in my opinion. Since any addon that goes beyond default FSX functionality has to work with variables that run outside of FSX, saved flights are really hairy to get working right. I've pretty much given up on the idea of saved flights for any of the complex aircraft like PMDG or A2A.
That being said, the one addon I have that seems to work pretty well with saved flights (even when loaded from IF instead of the FSX main menu) is QualityWings Avro RJ. It loads right up and aside from having to re-engage the AP and stuff, works really well in my experience. The PMDG MD-11 on the other hand works OK when using the main FSX front end and the FSX menu bar, but anything else and it refuses to load flight plans because it detects that the aircraft position is slightly different after it runs through the 20 seconds initialization phase.

There's a couple of things IF can do to help with some addons, and so coming in [sf] a few mods, even the ConcordeX loads up fine now. Even so, there's nothing stopping any a/c from working correctly from a flight file. There's also nothing stopping the aircraft from saving it's own sections in the .FLT like IF does. That's how to make things compatible. Instead a/c make their own file formats and use nav data files and things since it's easier than using the sim data.

...if there's such a lot of data that it's impractical to save it in the .FLT, then a file saved alongside the .FLT would do fine and could be loaded if found by the plane when reading the loaded .FLT location. IF does this as it's the proper way to do it.

...the version [sf] is still under construction and it's really working smooth and weather is really exciting, but the timeline has moved on a little to incorporate NavdataPro and AirbusX for Aerosoft. Not to worry it's weeks not months.

Great idea. Actually, to be able to set a "stop flight" point , either in minutes from or to destination so that an IF flight on autopilot on long flights will do "its thing" until it's time to get ready for the approach makes a lot of sense. It's like the captain going to sleep on a long flight and letting the copilot monitor the plane.

You can currently use the "Pause at WP/TOD" functions, set the minutes before Waypoint/TOD in the mission page.

Well, I've gone back over a lot of stuff, and basically we cannot manipulate the speed of the sim in FSX so we have to make a save game file and alter it as IF does. IF can't guarantee these functions will work if the planes stray from the design goal of FSX, fortunately very few do.
