Free Flight

Hello.
Well loving IF and turned off UT2 and just allowing IF to do it all but have noticed following.

1- leave CYYZ and flew to KBUF for example in free flight and back to CYYZ did not see any AI traffic on the way nor in any airports near KBUF or parked there

2- upon returning to CYYZ all AI was gone....weird

normal?
If IF is not set up to have AI at surrounding airports would it be possible to have this looked into at some point?

I've been looking into the Ai timing for the next update. I will check out the Free Flight setup.

Hello Steve.
thanks...I just did another flight and flew about 20min north from cyyz and returned to no AI traffic at all.
so it wasn't a one time thing...looking forward to future update.

just wanted to see how things are and any new news on the AI function that will allow us to free flight with IF using our own planes as AI traffic and being able to leave and return and still see AI traffic

Hi Glenn,

There's been some work on Ai traffic. I've not done everything I want to yet with it. I'll report soon on what's in the update [sf] and what's going to wait for [sg]. You can create an IF free Flight, departure and destination set the same, and see IF Ai around with [sg] coming shortly. A UI to choose planes and plans for Ai is coming up later.

Being able to click the IF:FSX icon to start FSX, and go into FSX free flight, change plane, time, and location and automatically get traffic around you is generally handled best by the traffic slider in FSX, or other traffic addons. IF will make traffic for that scenario eventually.
