Alternate Airport?

When generating a flight plan is an alternate airport shown anywhere?

Yes, there is a section in the briefing, scroll down to the middle. You can choose the number of airports in the IF Settings Page. Nearby airports of the same capacity are chosen. There are plans to improve this section.

Hi Steve
I have selected 3 nearby airports in my IF settings page but when I generate a flight KSLC-CYVR I'm only getting CYQQ as an alternate listed on the briefing page. This is for the 737-600 where I have defined the min runway length as 6500'. Nearby airports CYYJ and CYXX should easily accomodate the a/c. What distance from the destination airport does IF search for alternates?

Do you have any suggestions to give me more alternates in the briefing page?

Hi Brent,
There is an upgrade for alternates in the wings. At the moment the distance is a measly 90 miles and as you say takes into account the runways available but unfortunately not the flight lengths or cruise speeds. It is planned that the alternates will be switched in seamlessly with pre built plans if needed.

Ok, I but I would have thought that CYXX and CYJJ would also have been selected as they are both easily within that 90 mile distance. In fact they are both closer to CYVR than CYQQ which was displayed by IF in the briefing as an alternate.

mine only found CYXX and KNUW, surely 3 could be found... looks like you may have found a glitch there Brent, i'll be checking into that later
