I’ve posted [sg04] in the newbuilds section.
Some info about the Ai Buddy
If the shadow does not keep up and your planned cruise is quite high, then it may just follow you or drop back, in this case plan a slower cruise speed for the flight with this aircraft.
If you let the shadow set off first he assumes the lead. If you go faster than planned he assumes you are taking the lead, he will increase speed and stay ahead until you go too fast for the plan.
Dropping back can take little time, but going ahead can take a long time, especially with smaller slower aircraft. Give the shadow time to adjust and set into the swing of a new instruction.
Follow Plan simply sets off and maintains speeds to average the planned speeds. No instruction will allow the shadow to roam around, choosing instructions himself, except follow plan.
Watch out for avoidance. The shadow will try to take avoiding action but if there’s not enough time, he can’t do much before crashing, best to watch and avoid.
With slower aircraft, and you want the shadow to go ahead, choose the go ahead instruction and then slow down a little, and maybe move out of the way a little for him. Let him past more quickly then follow him.
Turbulence is worse below the shadow (or any moving sim object) and falls away and spreads out and settles properly with distance and speed and wind direction and rise and fall. You can often see the shadow cross in front then moments later you get the kick of the turbulence.
