That is a nice change I never thought of.

So I'm curious, have you ever tested any of the A2A aircraft with the throttle manager? Like their C172/182?

Talking flight monitor is getting some editions soon that will allow us to control them more easily. Figured I can use FSX pilot to help with the flying part while I use the throttle manager to handle maintaining speeds. I'm getting some hardware to help me out like a throttle etc soon, but it'd be nice to have options.

Not sure I understand the question... I've not tested many aircraft, tested the connie and the mooney collection and a few jets. . "Talking flight monitor" is that referring to IF's Talking flight monitor?

I'm just testing the trim callout, you'll hear something like "Elevator Trim -2.5 degrees". Is that what you can use?

Hi Steve,

No, Talking Flight Monitor is a program that is developed by user Jfayre here on these forums. He is adding the ability to accessibly control the custom bits of A2A aircraft.

You can read more about it at:

http://www.bvipilots.net/Main/TalkingFlightMonitorTFM

The A2A stuff isn't implemented yet in any of the released builds.

Hi there,

Ahh yes, OK, I had not realised that the project had moved on so far. Well done for that. It's a good effort.

I'm currently in the process of adding the nearest airport and attitude callouts to the voice settings. Also experimenting with steering the aircraft during takeoff and landing.

Regards
Steve

I don't know why, but there are times with the IF voice altitude reporting does not call out certain altitudes. It will say 2000 ALT, but when I pass 3000 FT it won't read it but might read 4000. I'm climbing pretty fast though but this jet can handle it.

It's just inconsistent in that way. I can't remember if I've brought this up before.

Can you spot if the effect of missing out some calls is simply because of something else calling out at the time?

That in general can't be helped unless I allow all callouts to queue up which I tried and callouts no longer coincide with events.

There is always the info pages to check things when you need to know. If you have an info page selected, use the hotkey to repeat speaking the page you are on.

5/June/2020:

Latest IF versions include screen reader support and in-sim voice callouts by codelegend.com

Preview 20:

Ideal Flight Professional P3D v4/5
Ideal Flight 10 Professional P3D v2/3
Ideal Flight 10 Special Edition
Ideal Flight 10 Original

Includes the previously asked for tones for pitch and bank. See Voice settings. Three tones low mid and high. Low and High are for pitch, mid is for bank. Mid tone appears in left speaker for left bank, high tone appears centrally for pitch up. Volume gets louder for increased pitch or bank. Config.ini Accessibility section contains adjusters for the magnitude of angle. Currently Pitch is plus/minus 20 degrees and bank 30 degrees. This only works when off the ground and with AP disabled. Much more to come.

I specifically turned off a number of things to prevent a lot of things being called just to focus on altitude callouts as I am climbing.

TFM calls the altitudes more so than IF. TFM is using the screen reader though and not Sapi.

As I find I'm using the information pages more, can we have a way to quickly zoom to a specific page? I know, for example, that to get the in-sim time I go to page 8, page 2 is fuel, etc, but when I need just specific information it's annoying having to press page forward and back just for one or two bits of info.
