I will look into that, maybe I covered this in the Upgrade by the export files system, I will have a look.

Great to hear that IF is getting you all off the ground quickly and into the flying part of FSX

:D

Using IF saves lots of time but does not mean you should throw away your complicated fuel calculator. For example the fuel is extremely accurate in IF once you found the Rage, remember this is the range of the sim aircraft flying in the sim. Running your addon Fuel and ETA calculator, you will now have more confidence since IF allows you to cross check the calculations made. I remember having no idea if the values were meaningful or not without IF's recorded flight fuel usage reports and the fuel estimates.

Note for [se] Taxi fuel burn time is supposed to be for adding time for holding as well
and is calculated at cruise burn, so 20 mins at half cruise burn = 10 mins. Although a bug in the briefing halves the taxi fuel burn time shown - fixed in [sf] - instead simply use 'Reserve Fuel Time' for added fuel time to get the briefing fuel time right (it's only 'Fuel Time' in the briefing affected and not the performance calculations). If you set zero times in Taxi and Reserve and make flights and set the Range suggested in the assessment de-brief, then rebuild the same flight and fly it in exactly the same way you will be able to see just how accurate IF's fuel and ETA calculation is.

...if you have to hold for 20 minutes there's no provision for that in the ETA, you'll be 20 minutes late in the assessment. However there is no penalty for being late unless you enable the time penalty. Times to penalties can be altered by editing the Monitor files with notepad (we'll have a GUI one day).

Am into Ga Twins right now so i let IF take care of the fuel calculation. I haven't ran out of gas yet. ;) Low fuel light comes on in the T Duke so I will add a few more percentage to the fuel calculations.
Am just really into the random flights, the keeping of flight records and how user friendly IF is. IF and EFB means no paper work for me. :)
I always disable the times.

...just checking it's not a fluke; here we are coming out on SID Clacton Eastbound:

Looking awesome - Think IF might turn in to my "one-stop-before-flight" program!

Progress Report:

We've had to wait a long time, we are still waiting so it's going to have to be good. All route plans benefit from a number of improvements within the heart of Ideal Flight. Generally using add-in data presents a number of problems but with the upgraded version of Ideal Flight coming soon, they've more or less been circumvented and routes are fully compatible with FSX ATC.

Here's an early SID/STAR route auto-generated for a Lear45 using IF's latest auto-planner modifications.

Using SID Angers (ANG) and STAR Detling (DET), a computed initial departure fix, and the published approach ILS22 (Fix FI22).

computed initial departure fix/ Is that IDF? Can't wait for the improve IF! Thanks for the update Steve!

I let IF do my flight plan and add the Sid and star from EFB then back to IF. Will IF do SIDS and stars too on the new IF?

Yes, the plan will include the relevant waypoints from the SID and STAR if they exist at the airport. The auto-computed plans will include the waypoints initial departure fix (IDF), the main waypoint for the SID, then the route waypoints following published airways, then the main waypoint for the STAR, then the final approach fix (FAF). The waypoints are chosen depending on the runways planned and the relevance to the plan and navigation systems. The runways can be set manually in the Edit Plan function as usual.
