FSX Minimizes

Postby Dean B » Wed Oct 19, 2011 3:24 pm

Hi Steve,

I'm having a problem whereby IF starts, it loads FSX and the kneeboard appears. The main FSX window is hidden. Sometimes I see the scenery progress bar loading. When I close the kneeboard FSX remains hidden. No amount of clicking on the FSX icon in the taskbar will force FSX into view. If I press ESC sometimes the 'End current task, Continue Flying' window will appear but clicking Continue doesn't kickstart FSX into view. I have to close FSX via task manager.

IF starts FSX via the external limiter batch file.

Hi Dean,
I had something like this once, I'm not sure how it came about, I was messing around with another monitor.
It sounds like the window could be starting off desktop.
I wonder if you can start up FSX and press Alt+Enter to get it full screen, then Exit, so it saves it's position.
Perhaps something like that will kick it back into gear.

Steve,

I tried that and every other possibility but nada.

What has just worked is removing the RunCmd string.

Why are you docking me all these points in my STOL aircraft?! ;)

Seriously, can the cfg be tuned to suit aircraft like the Bird Dog which exceed a lot of the normal flight parameters.

Oops.
The 'alternative monitor files' are missing, reappearing in [rg]. They are only for the stock aircraft. You can create a monitor file for a particular aircraft and edit the amount of G forces allowed and so on.
There is an article in the help, scroll down to Monitor Files.
http://www.codelegend.com/idealflight/help/fly.htm

Keep a backup of any you make.
The monitor files get a small upgrade to handle the overspeed and stall errors, in [rg].
So you can copy paste the two new sections to your files or wait for [rg].
