FS2020 flight plans?

Hi Steve,
I'm a long time user of Ideal Flight Pro. I never fly in P3Dv5.3 without an Ideal_Flight.PLN.

I'm presently contemplating a venture into FS2020. I have a copy which I have yet to explore.

Can my Ideal Flight produce plans for use in FS2020, and if so, is there some guidance as to how import them for use in that sim?

Regards, Jim

Hi Jim,

Happy New Year to you and yours!

I've not checked but the FSX/P3D .PLN files I think they might just work in MSFS. I know MSFS plans can incorporate more details. I'm not sure where they need to be copied to but you can use the IF Export function to copy them to wherever they can be picked up by FS2020 if need be. Every time you build a flight the plan will be exported. Let me know if you have any luck. I might get a chance next week to have a look into that.

Stay safe and keep well,
Regards,
Steve

Hi Steve,

A Very Good New Year to You and Yours from Scotland!

Thank you for the prompt reply. I'm just dipping my toe in FS2020, as an aside from a wonderfully smooth and stable P3Dv5.3.
I'll try out a plan and see how it goes, reporting back as I go. I live out in the country with a slow internet connection, but if I limit my ground speed to 100 knots, I hope to do some leisurely flights.

Regards, Jim

Hi Steve,

FS2020 now CTDs repeatedly. I'm as sure as can be that it has nothing to do with the plan I tried. I'll now have to uninstall/re-install, so I'll be absent for a while.

Regards, Jim

I'd love to see full support within IF for 2020. I like the ability to click Fly and P3D loads at a gate with the selected aircraft. I know 2020 now has shell commands to execute like IF does when launching the sim etc, however I don't know how far they go. The screen reader in the sim meant to be able to start a flight is pretty broken now and it's hard to select runways and gates to use the in-sim flightplanner. I'm forced to use SimBrief and then load the aircraft on the runway.
