Change Passenger count

Postby reecemj » Sun Jul 12, 2020 3:55 pm

The plane I fly holds 11 people IF gives 15. How can that be changed?

There's no way in the simulator that it can calculate how many people there are in the aircraft or how many seats there are. An aircraft description can say how many people it takes but there's no fields in the aircraft.cfg to describe seats or people, only shows loading spaces not even how much weight each space can hold. It's a limitation in the simulator.

So what Ideal Flight does is guess a number based on the weight of a passenger + hand luggage and the capacity of a load space. Default FSX and P3D is 170Lb. The number shown in the briefing is for fun mainly. You can tune the Person Weight in the Payload Definitions if you wish (Aircraft Flight Parameters). However the number of passengers shown in the briefing is a made up number just for fun.

Some addon aircraft might include an external program to account for actual seats and persons, but there's no plans at this time for Ideal Flight to be expanded to interface to their data on a per aircraft basis. Thanks for understanding the problem.
