Another Weather Question

Hi Steve,
Just started really using this software and playing with the settings and love the concept. Having issues with the new sound side of things, but I will leave that for another day.
My question, relating to weather, I know this seems to have been a frequent topic over the years, but would it be possible for IF to access and read Activesky P3D (or any other weather program) weather text file and then write that to the metars.ini file? (current_wx_snapshot.txt)
This would then be a replacement or save having to manually enter weather strings in the metars.ini file.
You would then have an option to have RW live weather. The program could then create a flight plan more accurately and/or save having to import a previously generated flight plan from say pfpx.
Thank you for constantly updating the program, other devs could take a leaf out of your book.
Well done.
Brian

Thanks Brian.
It's already on the todo list but it's a more complicated than imagined so I won't go into detail. It would be better for IF to DL weather from the internet for as-it-happens weather.
What issues with sound - the voice system?

HI Steve,
That's great that the weather option is on the todo list, I am sure you will work it out, until then I will just import flightplans from pfpx.
The sound issues are me still trying to work out what I need to switch on and what to switch off. I am not a visually impaired user, so I do not need the program to tell me constantly what level my throttles are at.
Maybe I just do not need sound part of the program.
Thanks
Brian

OK I see. In the popup menu on the main screen choose the Voice options. The window will pop up and you can choose to disable voice entirely - uncheck Voice Enable.
If you do want some items read out you select those in the Voice Items Selection checkbox window. You can store 12 sets of checkbox items and switch between them with the hot keys. The button marked '=' (Equal) sets the current selection into the current set.

...By the way I forgot to mention the Voice system and the Assist system is currently a work in progress (Alpha) - there is no help for it so far.
Thanks again!

Thanks Steve,
I am playing with the settings to see if I can use any of them. I commend you for building in accessibility options to IF, well done.
I did have one other small issue, not a big deal but not sure if your aware of it. Sorry if I am being a pain now, I will leave you alone after this to get on with work.
After you prepare a flight and view the full briefing, the images for EGKK Gatwick do not show, it just shows text place holder where the images should be.
I did omit to tell you which version of FS I am using and which version of IF I am currently using.
So my Flight sim is P3D V4.5 HF3 and IF is Version 10.027ef18 IF professional.
Thanks again Steve
Brian

Don't hesitate to post anything you find - really not a problem. I am relying on input like yours. Your time is more precious so I am very grateful indeed for all feedback.
OK. I checked the stock EGKK looks OK.
Is yours an addon? Could be the new scenery code is missing something since it is new and covers v4 and v5 addons. I'm sure there will be something not showing up, even very minor, and that could mean no pictures.

A work of art isn't it! I can see the problem. Looks like all the data is good, but just falls on its face painting the image. I'll be back working on it tomorrow. That will be fixed next update coming shortly. I'm very grateful you spotted it.
Meanwhile, have you got others from UK2000? Chances are others may not show. If so, on the Flight gen page you can type in the ICAO in the destination airport box and press the round green button with the runway symbol. If the image is not there or shows the last OK airport you saw then that would mean the images are not generated.
