Only partial success. 4 items remain ticked:
Fly Tampa Libraries
LH Sims Budapest
Aerosoft Zurich
MK Palma

Is there anything I can do about these four which remain?

Ideal Flight has indexed.

In Orbx you can just uninstall them.

The items stay on your disk for later reinstall. There's a Settings button (cog wheel icon) at the top of Orbx Central, under App - Help, there is a Sync Simulator button that updates the configuration.

For the other: You can check in: 'C:\Users\<you>\AppData\Roaming\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v5' and 'C:\ProgramData\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v5' for add-ons.cfg, in those there may be entries you can delete (have a backup first). That would remove them from the configuration.

Every time you install or update Ideal Flight from the IF setup app it will backup all the main configuration files in P3D (even though IF does nothing to them).

Add-ons can either put an XML in '\Documents\Prepar3D v5 Add-ons' which P3D will discover and will see where the add-on is installed, or the add-on can instruct P3D with a command line switch where its files are located.

There are still 2 items remaining in my addons folder. Ideal Flight has indexed once again, complaining about LHBP. I don't seem to have achieved the goal set in your instructions. Within my very limited abilities I can't do any more, so as I see my situation now, I can only try to restore the addon cfgs, and re-tick the items in P3D's addons cfg.

I'm sorry my attempt came to nothing

What is the problem with LHPB?

My typo, LHBP. It was one of the items I couldn't remove from addons cfg

One thing you can do is rename the add-ons.cfgs and P3D will create new blank ones and configure itself add-on free.

Having now restored the original cfgs, I'm assuming if I re tick the items in P3D addons all will be restored.
If I do as you suggest, how do I restore all the items I've removed for now? There are 18 items, some of which are now straight forward to reinstall {due to my poor recollection of how I installed them.}

The configs have an item 'ACTIVE=false' after unticking, then when you tick the item in the P3D menu that will be set to true.

If the new cfgs are blank, how would I reinstate what I have for now removed from the present one?
Or is the P3D cfg isolated from those other two? I'm really scared of doing something here which I can't fix,

EDIT: I did notice that the two cfgs {AppData and ProgramData} contained different items from one another, while the cfg I see within P3D contains the complete list. Where does this last one reside?
