Interoperability with Aivlasoft EFB

You are correct, the flight restarts at the current location with the new plan, IF responds as if you have loaded a new plan. There are various options built into IF and there is an option for the preferred response to loading a new plan but unsettable, I will bring it forward for the next version. I thought it was set to ignore - sorry about that.

Although I've not loaded up EFB yet, if I change a plan, and don't accept to restart at the start of the plan, the flight carries on with the new plan. I think it should work as intended with EFB. To ignore the plan change would mean not being able to do certain other functions later in the flight.

When I checked the GPS the new plan was loaded perfectly - even if it was a different named file, are you sure your plane still has the old plan loaded?

I don't recall seeing an option to not accept restarting at the start... how would I manage that?

when a new plan is loaded by FSX it asks you if you want to start at the departure airport or continue where you are...

You said IF is confused and loads the old plan - so the flight continues OK but the plan has not changed?

If i load a new plan the FSX box pops up asking if i want to start at the departure airport in the plan i say no, the flight continues where it was before the plan changed. Same if IF is running.

Yes, correct, that is the product I'm referring to. This comes in handy for "simple" aircraft that don't have sophisticated nav equipment because I can select proper sid/stars from Aivlasoft and it activates these changes directly into the running flight plan in FSX.

As far as FSX prompting to start from the beginning, this does not occur on my system during the flight. From the initial free fly screen when selecting all my options within FSX I do see that question, but during the process I described in the original problem it does not ask me. It just starts over.

I understand, and very much appreciate the attention you've been giving this issue. Very impressive indeed.

It's been a while since I've tested with it, and as such I'm likely not describing the problem very clearly. From what I can tell after loading all the options in IF and starting the flight, when I'm going through my start up procedures in the aircraft, within a running flight that has an active flight plan generated by IF, I then select my sid from Aivlasoft. Aivlasoft then modifies the active flight plan based on the sid I chose and activates this modified flight plan directly into FSX. As soon as this occurs it appears that IF is detecting a change in the active flight plan and is reloading the original flight plan back into FSX. Not only does it reactivate the original flight plan, but it appears to be reloading all of the options including a reload of the aircraft shutting all the systems down, etc. Basically reloading all of the active options in FSX.

Instead of IF detecting the changes in the FSX active flight plan and integrating that into it's own FP, it resets everything back to it's own options and reloads. Sorry if I'm not explaining this very well.
