inbound

Postby chas » Sat Sep 29, 2012 11:24 am

Hi I dont know wether its me or not but every time I get within 25 miles of the said destination im told to fly course 271 for runway 310 and when i look out of the cockpit im way off course and by the time the said runway shows its too late to slow down too correct and land . If it is my fault then I appoligised for wasting your time .Thanks anyway for a great addon, must admit I have flown FSX more times since .

No worries, but that sounds very odd for ATC to be going off the wall, I'm sure you can eliminate IF from this enquiry. Are you running an ATC addon?

No, just FSX and that generated flight ,as I say could be me ., dont even pick up the LSI I get the signal coming down the EADI and when It reaches middle I engage the LOC and when the aircraft does nothing but stay on 271 I look out of the window to see the runway lights over to my right. Maybe not spent enough time flying as I should .

What is your destination? I would like to have a look at it. Did the briefing had the correct runway selected? Don't forget IF cannot predict 100% the final runway so the wrong runway may be selected...

Could be me Steve, anyway this is the destination (LJLJ IFR). I must admit it seems a bit on the short side , but that could be my flying .

This looks like an issue with ATC and the minimum altitudes. I will fly into Ljubljana later and see if I can spot anything. You may want to see what happens if you fly in from other directions. It could be that we are seeing some limitations of FSX ATC getting you into airports surrounded by mountains, although ATC usually does very well. It's not an issue with the flight plan other than you may want to check the Aircraft Flight Parameters "Cruise Alt" and "Preferred Alt" to be sure there is plenty of altitude, there are 9000ft minimums all around the airport.

...I've been watching the IF Ai aircraft landing and ATC brings them in short and steep. Try to fly the approach slower and maintain your speed once selected so as not to make ATC recalculate things.
