Active Sky 2012 metars

Postby Dags » Thu Aug 30, 2012 8:46 pm

So back for more FSX for a little while. Just bought AS 2012 last night and tried it for a couple of flights. Simply amazing.

I was wondering if there was a way to insert the metar into IF, since a couple of times, my departure/ arrival runways within FSX were not the same as what IF had generated (due to the prevailing winds)

I would love to be able to integrate the weather from AS 2012 within IF.

You mean have IF generate flights for Real World Weather?

In IF:

set IF weather off (uncheck)
set Thermal and Ridge off (uncheck)

now build a flight or open a .PLN and build the flight with that

with the AS tools find out what the weather will be like and determine your most likely runways to depart and arrive, use the IF maps of the airports for the runway information

with IF's Flight Generator page press the Edit Plan button and select the runways and build the plan -the button text shows the runways and if the plan has been edited

Fly the route make sure AS is running before setting off

Let me know how that goes...
