Well, unfortunately there's nothing else I can suggest, you should take it up with DTG I think. Face it, I just walked up to a PC, removed FSX, Installed FSX-SE, and I got the regular folders. It's so that FSX addons understand the familiar layout, pretty obvious really. Except for the program files folder is in SteamApps, but then FSX has always been able to install anywhere.

Yes, I think you would be better off with a normal installation rather than the new set of folders for compatibility with addons. Otherwise wait for addons to become compatible. The updates to IF10 are coming as soon as possible and will be ready when they are ready.

You got simconnect 61242 set up OK from the FSX-SP1 folder, and you get four items listed when Search "simconnect" in "C:\Windows\WinSxS"? A folder, a security catalog, a manifest, and a simconnect.dll.

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\FSX\SDK\Core Utilities Kit\SimConnect SDK\LegacyInterfaces\FSX-SP1\SimConnect.msi"

I mention it because in some cases the setup might not be completed properly.

Hi steve,
I have a chance to run a complete flight, with ideal flight, and everything runs perfect in fsxse, except that I dont get a briefing on the kneepad with the info and maps.
Not major, as I usually get briefing info before I start the flight, but it is handy to refer to while flying.

After flight all scores info etc are fine, once again thanks for a great bit of software
All the best
Mike

The briefing should have no problems it's just an html document. Try running the install again, if you change users you need to update the IF10 install after logging on as that user to set the path for the html briefing file for FSX. Otherwise you could have some process running that alters the .FLT name in FSX, and which will lose the html path since the .PLN and the .HTM must have the same name as the flight file, e.g. FSUIPC autosave - turn that off if so, as that unfortunately changes the .FLT name. If not that, anything else you can think of? Also changing browsers from Ie could affect the FSX html view.
