hi Steve,
I need to reinstall if on new hdd but have lost the original installer, I bought from simstop for which I have the serial.
however I downloaded the trial and am having problems do I need the base install?

remove any installation with control panel remove apps.
make a fresh install with version [sg]:

http://download.codelegend.com/idealflight/Ideal_Flight_Setup_10_012sg.zip

in your backed-up profiles folders, coming from versions pre-[sf], depending on changes to scenery and planes you may need to lose the old parked aircraft. if you are you may need to rename the parked.dat files, one found in each profile directory:

C:\ProgramData\Ideal Flight 10\Profiles\0_ID\0_Parked.dat - etc.

then restore your saved profiles - don't hesitate to come back for more help
