Ideal flight not loading sim brief plans

Hello,
I am using the latest ideal flight version preview f01. I am not able to load flights created by sim brief.
It says that I either need to rebuild the scenery wich I've tried, clear search ffilters wich I've tried, and I've even uninstalled and reinstalled the program several times.
ALso, the only things I have changed currently are: setting the system to generate plans based on my system time, and having the sim start with engines shut down.

No amount of re-installing IF can fix problems of any kind at all. Only thing that can do is reset to default settings. You can always try default settings by making a new profile. If it completes the index process with no errors then no need to repeat that.

That message you describe is to do with building flights, seems more like you are saying it cannot complete a flight build. But I'm not certain. Also not sure which version you are using.

I wonder if you have an AV or Internet security browser blacklist or similar that stops the build completing because it cannot save plans.

I would check that and get the AV system to ignore the folders where IF makes htm files (the briefing). Which is mentioned on the download page instructions. If you think this is a possibility, please try and exclude the folders:


C:\ProgramData\Ideal Flight Professional
C:\Users\you\Documents\Prepar3D v4 Files

to allow htm files to be copied there, some internet security software might treat htm files created as suspicious.

What you could do is copy paste in a plan that won't build or send via the contact address.

I can then check out the plan file here.

Also you could try making ordinary IF plans to check it's not a condition presented in the simbrief plan. They should be OK as I've used plenty of those, but you never know. Plans must be the proper xml format used by FSX and P3D. IF can ignore certain files if they are not compatible or contain odd characters.

Hello,
I will try again to create a new profile. WHat is happening is that when I load a flight plan from sim brief, it's giving me errors.
I am using the update to ideal flight that you released in december of 2019. NOt sure if there is a newer version than that.
ALso, I will add the folder exclusions to windows defender, though this has never been an issue before.

Thanks. Yes newer version available in new builds - try that. It might be better to look in the log and copy me the error reported. If IF can't complete the build, check the internet security/AV software does not interfere with those folders.

I had to restore my computer due to other difficulties, and I used the latest build that you posted.
I'm attaching a plan that is from KDFW to KORD.
TI am also sending a screenshot that displays the error.

See if a flight can be successfully built from a regular IF plan, then we know if all the files can be saved during the build or not.

Maybe you can instead send the file and your screenshot to the contact email address shown on the contact page?

If you use Explorer, highlight the two files and choose Send to Compressed file from the menu. That will make a compatible zip file I can open here. Don't use other zip programs as I can't use them.

I do apologize, but I am not seeing the email? And I can't even use the paste plan function. WHen I hit control v, it does not bring up the fields.

Unfortunately the forum is not set up to handle the attachments. The contact email is on the
