Like I said, I can't do stuff like that it's not under my control, all I can do is make sure it's good when you get it - sorry if you find that "so sad" but i'm doing what I can.

GC ...the main problem with development was I have had trouble with eyesight most of last year, simply couldn't see to do it. Then I had the kind of update ready you thought might be good as you said just to get it out, but this doesn't comply with the distribution as I said a few posts ago. My predictions are based on "now", then if after that I get an unforseen problem, that's just life, it's not procrastination - that's just sad of you to suggest it GC.

Sorry to read people are a bit harsh towards Steve. In my opinion no one is as open and honest to his clients as Steve is. I mean, I don't know a lot of programmers who really listen to their customers or respond as quickly as he does in case of a problem. ever heard of Microsoft programmers helping you out concerning FSX? I rest my case! Let's give Steve the credit he deserves. And therefore: stop whining and prepare for take off! :P

Steve,

If your eyesight is an issue, then why say anything until you know the update is ready. You answered me in July that the update would be done in a month. Then it was going to be done before Christmas. Then the New Year. As of yet, you still have not told us when the update will definitely be distributed.

The problem is when customers have contacted you about issues, for many months you have told us that the issues are fixed in sf and how happy we will be when the update is released. So for many months, we have had to live with these issues even though you have fixed them. I am not expecting the "perfect" update, I would just like to have the fixes you have been holding back for three-quarters of a year! Why don't you set a cutoff and put any new fixes in the augmented program that you have announced?

I'm tired of the way you have strung this out.

I've said it'll be out next week and so on several times already, and every time when I said it I meant it. Of course it's backfired each time for some reason or another, and that's why normally devs don't venture that kind of info. Yes, had eye problems I thought were over, got worse as I tried to do more work, so had to ease off. There was no setting on a monitor dim enough to see comfortably, but gladly that trouble is now behind me, for the last couple of months I've had little worries from it. Flight 1 wanted a full-on mkII product but I felt the community around IF10 deserved a really good service pack to get the original product right. Work on the expansion meant that a lot of underlying code would be improved to support new features like the AIRAC data, the service pack and expansion work is done altogether. So there's really a lot coming for free. But due to that the service pack and expansion have to be introduced at the same time to draw attention to the Expansion. We had a good enough version ready before Christmas, and a following update to [sg] would quickly take care of any issues arising. An important member of F1 staff was unexpectedly unavailable, and we had no option to postpone a few weeks again. What I've done is work all the time to give the service pack and the expansion a good deal of polish, it's not going out to you guys for testing. Remember the service pack is free and it's also a big upgrade to the feature set you have now. The expansion is huge and not expensive. Sorry for the trouble caused.

Steve,

You've said your piece and I said mine. I'll say no more. Hope it turns out well for all of us.

You say that you are waiting for Flight1, but they can only publish a product that they get from you. When you sitll in development the can't publish anything. So i think it's not their fault.

That depends what you mean by "at fault", which If I'm right, means making promises that didn't pan out, and clearly as I've said, that'll be me. It's not what I'd hoped for, but I'm doing the best I can to fit in with the publishing agreement.
