are you going to update the report page today? Or once this new build comes out?

I update the report when I upload the new preview build.

For a possible help page, something that would be very helpful would be to describe a flight step by step with the assists as a quick start.

I guess we have to use ATC to know when TOD is, however when to switch speed presets for speed, E.G. will auto-throttle switch to cruise preset once at cruise altitude? If so, how would it then know to switch to approach/final approach speed?

Just an idea on a help page really.

Orinks wrote:So you're saying the feature that previously allowed us to save flights and then, if the sim crashed we could just load it later, will no longer be available in this new build? The IF auto-save flight every 45 minutes or so...

Also, how do you land using ILS with the assists if you can? When you select a runway from the assist page will it just create a GPS approach to the runway? Or does it help you try and land ILS if the runway has it?

ILS: You have to be sure there is a glideslope if you need it, often only the LOC is available for horizontal location, check in the Ideal Flight briefing. You need to approach below the glideslope so in Ideal Flight, enable HSI reporting and you need to hear that you are below GSI as you approach the final. If you are above GSI then set your VS to steep enough to get below the glideslope. You can set your altitude to just below the runway altitude so a runway at 250 feet set 200 feet in the altitude, set -700 feet VS. If you use the Ideal Flight computed approach you will be on the start of final at APP1 waypoint, next waypoint is TDWN on the near end of the runway.

About your sim crashes: as usual you can use the Ideal Flight auto-save with the new build but it will not load saves from the older builds. Do you know what is causing your crashes? Usually a bad add-on or overreaching settings in Prepar3D. You can check things in the Administrative evens All events from the Windows Control Panel, System and Security, Administrative Tools, View Event Logs.

...with crashes to desktop of the simulator (CTD) if this is an addon then it could be a dll attached to the sim. Dlls can crash the sim very easily if they have a problem, but an exe program would rarely if ever crash the sim even if it crashes itself.

My sim actually hasn't been crashing, however there was a time when it was due to the sim traffic sliders being high or unneeded scenery being turned up.

I have next to no vram in this computer :(. Sim crashes are caused by the video card hanging.

OK. You can reduce VRAM a lot by switching off all shadows, and use low texture resolution if not already.

You can open Explorer in the Sim config folder from the Ideal Flight menu "Explore Locations".

in the Prepar3D.cfg file:

[GRAPHICS]
SHADOW_QUALITY=0
TEXTURE_MAX_LOAD=512
