What in the world...it started working again after I disabled and reenabled the voice a couple times and restarted IF.

So Tyler, it is working OK now? Seems your sound system was locked out - that can happen to any program and there are a myriad of issues that can stop any program talking, especially with readers active. Always start testing IF from a clean boot up so that your system is correctly operating. Possibilities include having visited certain websites, or having been running a program that holds on to a resource. IF won't stress the system and will back out in circumstances of failure.

Remember that we can have IF set up the Navs ready for the flight. In Cold and Dark we can swap over what we want in place departure or destination.

Every now and then we might have to change over the frequency from Active to Standby. I have fixed this problem in the next update, it is a mistake in IF.

The heading might read out five times too big, like 800 degrees, depending on changes of direction. That's been tidied up. Sorry about that, in the meantime will have to do some quick mental arithmetic.

So here's an idea that I'm sure nobody's thought of.

Just as with Cold and Dark settings, Weather Settings, etc, how there is a more settings button, and those dialogues are presented as lists with checkboxes?

Individual items for the voice settings page can be similarly categorized in list dialogues like this for things like, say, the autopilot functions. I want to turn off the announcement of Autopilot vertical speed hold, but in order to do that I have to turn off all of the autopilot functions. I'm interested in AP speed values. Possibly heading as well.

This is a way to solve the potential clutter that can be on the voice settings page.

Organisation comes later. It would be nice to be able to select everything you want individually. At the moment I am banging in everything you need. As quickly as possible.

Try with your friends to come up with the partitioning of settings into groups required.

Also what would be handy is a list of preferences for what you hear on the kneeboard pages. I've basically hurriedly put some together on each page but I'm not certain what you want on each page.

That's what I need feedback on.

Label texts often are easily understood because of where they sit in the page and the information in the control. That's not so easy for the blind.

I mentioned before that the visible labels quite often don't convey enough about the control. In IF we have a complete set of texts for the reader that complement or replace the simple label texts.

Some of these might be misplaced. The visible labels are correct but I've often overlooked checking everything with the reader present. Please have a think about what the reader says for the control and that this is properly matched to the control. Anything suspicious, take a note.

Darrell and Jordan found an issue when we load flight plans that means we might start at our old location rather than the new airport departure.

This is fixed now and I've made a few more improvements to loading plans as well. The plan loading was changed during the accessibility upgrades to introduce the override for the cruise altitudes.

If we have not got a flight loaded, and we load a plan, either dropped on IF or by the load file menu, and the departure is from another airport than where we are, we wind up where we left off. in the meantime we can use the Move to location menu item, choose a parking place, then load the plan.

Please be aware I found a situation on the Voice setting page, reader present, when tabbing or shift tabbing near the OK and Voice enable checkbox, the program can except, and we have to end IF with Task Manager. This is usually where there is perhaps a disabled control I have not handled properly.

There may be one or two other places around, with reader present, that might be incomplete. There are hundreds of items set up for the readers NVDA and Narrator. Other readers read the visible labels, which are more easily checked.

The Activate IF Hot Key (CTRL+SHIFT+F default set in menu), has been reconfigured to give priority to raise IF. Raise IF may not work when the system is stressed. I've taken care of that now.
