Finally got round to fixing the comms frequencies and also now I have pre set the flight with ATIS and Tower, or Ground etc. depending on what's available; start a flight, un-pause and the ATIS starts up. Adjustable in mission - other actions.

...the Active Comm1 starts with Tower and the Active Comm2 starts with ATIS, and with a setting Comm1 and Comm2 are swapped over to put the ATIS in Comm1 to start with ATIS going when un-paused at the start of the flight ...Comm1 and Comm2 Standby are pre-set to the Destination Tower and ATIS frequencies(if available).

The new Ai feature sets off an aircraft of your choice along your plan so you can fly with an imaginary buddy; flies IFR and talks to ATC. Picture from my FSN shots page:

I'm working on right now: Updating various Help items. The world map; we now have latitudes showing, Arctic, Antarctic, Equator, and Tropics, and Greenwich meridian. We can scroll the map (L-R and U-D) with the mouse wheel. The route tracks are further enhanced again. The Ai timing; honing up the times of Ai departing/arriving at departure and destination locations. Ai Shadow aircraft; making the aircraft selection extend to Ai only or non-user aircraft as we can only choose user aircraft in the Aircraft page. Flight Gen; the flight hours are grouped below with the search items and other things tidied up less confusing.

OK don't get excited not ready yet. However, I've been through a complete test-improve-test cycle and I've just got a few tid-bits to deal with nothing stressful but it's all working neatly together and looking good. One thing I'm working on for the upgrade pack; IF reads the Navigraph set provided for the aircraft natively - so that means *no route anomalies* and database errors. Made possible since the route is made from the actual data running the FMC and it's integrated and mirrored with real sim data, this is typically a unique feature of IF, doesn't just read add-in data, instead makes the best subset between the scenery and the add-in data. It's a big job. I'm just testing native iFly Navigraph data:

Image

Notice the new map symbols. The route uses the FAF, 64DME. The regular copy of IF uses the approaches (sim or add-in data) to find the route onto the nearest airways. The Transitions and SID/STARS are featuring as approach/departure types in the upgrade pack. If you own a regular copy of IF you get all the functionality shown in the map but don't have the add in data (just sim data) and the approaches other than the usual computed approach. the computed approach is substituded where there is no data and works with the FMSs/MCDUs. The upgrade pack also exports routes to the FMS/MCDU including the Aerosoft Airbus Extended flight plan database without disrupting your plans.

There's a lot in the upgrade pack, and there's a lot in the program that lifts the current regular copy of IF to a new level. Coming soon.

Thanks for all the help, testing, support, and encouragement I've been getting - tremendous - thanks again.

Wow! Lots of changes - looks like we'll be breaking out the manuals for the upgrade pack!

Heehee, don't worry Brent, I've not added much to the manual, more time to make the program.

Once you've got IF the facilities grow on you, but with the update there's lots of little things that make it nicer in use, for example: "Paste" CTRL+V pops up a window with edit box you can type in your departure and destination, if you "Copy" CTRL+C an ICAO then that will appear as the destination, but still in an edit box so it can be edited. And then in the Flight Gen page the searches don't invoke a build, so lots of searches can be tried out In less time. Also after a search is made, and a destination is chosen from the drop down list, the popup menu item "Reverse Route" uses this selected destination as your departure ignoring any current route, and moves you and builds the route in one go. So now once you're at your brand new expensive addon airport, you can simply and quickly create flights back to it rather than always going from it.
