...attention to detail and security, never run IF as admin...

The export lists locations are set for read/write/create access during IF setup:

The caption reads "Note: Re-run Setup to ensure access rights are set for the chosen directories."

Hi Steve

Is it possible to export the IF flightplan to more than one location simultaneously (e.g. PMDG for the aircraft and FSX for ATC) or must you export twice?

Also....it may become clearer when we get to play with the new version but I don't follow your statement, "never run IF as admin..."

Cheers,
Brent

Hi Brent,

Yes you can output whatever file to as many places as you like :ugeek:

Ideal Flight checks itself for malware when you run the installer, if it detects malware attached it will end with a message and not continue and run in admin mode for the install.

If you run an infected program as admin, it is already too late, the payload is written to protected areas.

When you allocate export directories for IF, re-running the setup program will ensure the proper rights are enabled on those directories.

Software that demands admin rights is flawed and a danger to your security.

Thanks Steve - that makes a lot of sense...I'm surprised more developers haven't twigged to that issue
Happy New Year to you and your loved ones. :)

IF is full of stuff that raises the bar in the FSX addon arena.

Happy New Year to you too Brent - best wishes

Hi All,

I've tested iFly 737 .FLTPLAN
I've tested PMDG .rte v1 and v2/3 and .rt2 v1 on J41 747 MD11 737

Quite exciting to see monster IF routes on display in those a/c.

You can auto export with a build any file type or export right away if a flight is ready, to as many different filenames as you like.

:ugeek: Requests please for file types wished to be supported in [sf] - out very soon...

Many thanks
