Loading IF Flight Plan into GPS

I'm considering purchasing IF. Once IF creates a flight plan, can it be loaded into the GPS and flown using the autopilot? If so, where are the IF created flight plans stored and how are they identified so they can be loaded into the GPS?

Looks like a great program, looking forward to it.

Hi Bob.

Yes the flight plan is loaded into the GPS and ATC is set ready to receive your call. You can select the GPS switch and choose the NAV setting on the AP and fly all the way on AP.

With IF you are always located at an airport and you want to know where you can get to from there. IF looks for airports within your desired flight time. It creates the flight and plan and loads them into FSX so you are automatically ready to go.

When you fly check your fuel use, there are in-sim fuel reports and also at the end of the de-brief. Set the range of the aircraft in the Parameters page, and the fuel will be calculated accordingly. If you land with too much fuel left, you should probably increase the Range so less fuel is calculated, this is how you adjust fuel in IF since it is automatic.

Come back for any help you need.

Regards
Steve

Thanks Steve, sounds like a great program.

One more quick question, the documentation says IF will build a GPS approach to any runway. Does this include small unimproved strips? Grass, dirt, etc? Small Orbx fields?

Yes, as long as the runway length in the scenery addon is described in the airport data, else the final waypoint will be nearer the middle of the runway, LucklaX is the only example I know of.

Excellent, thanks again for the prompt response. I read over the .ini file GPS approach parameters and it looks like it'll work great. I'm sure looking forward to this program.

Cheers,
Bob

you can practically autoland with this feature.
choose plan types with "approach waypoints included" the approach sections (have a look at in the FSX map) are time based. You probably saw they could be set to your liking. They try to adhere to likely ATC instructions but are generally for non ATC and selected approaches. select approaches and departures once you have a flight built, by use of the Edit Plan button, flight gen page, choose runways.

You can even copy paste navigraph approaches into the plan straight from the navigraph text.

There are wide and tight approaches selected in the mission page.

...you can also set "soft" or "loose" preferred runways, and the autoplanner chooses grass or gravel if they are available. your approach will go right down onto them so remember when that feature is selected you will be off ILS...

Your support will be much appreciated.
Check the report page on the site for current progress, we are at the final stages of this 1.0 build.
There's a lot planned for IF, should keep things interesting in the coming months.
Best regards
Steve
