flight is not loading anymore

Hi!
I have a strange problem since yesterday.
I prepare a flight and let IF launch FSX when everything is set up.
IF is showing "waiting for Flight Simulator" and when FSX is booted up, the message changes to "In progress..."
After that, nothing happens anymore. Until yesterday, the screen went black and the loading bar appeared when IF´s screen changed from "waiting for..." to "in progress..."
Now, nothing seems to happen and I have to close FSX via the Windows task manager...
What could be wrong here?

Hi,

This sounds like an FSX problem since IF starts FSX OK and monotors it OK where "in progress" is reported.
I would try a different location and aircraft, could be a scenery or addon aircraft issue.

IF starts FSX like you can from explorer, choose a .FLT and run "Open With FSX". This will test the flight file without IF running.

Also try the IF "X" button and then in FSX freeflight load the flight "IFlight".

Thank you for your fast answer which brought me to an idea.
I tried to start a flight with the RealAir Turbine Duke in the situation
I explained in my post above. And with that add on, a screen with some explanations concerning the airspeed indicator etc. is displayed on the start of every flight. (can be disabled through the RA config tool, haven't done that yet) Maybe that causes some trouble.

Hi Steve!
I disabled the message in the config tool and voila, the Turbine Duke loads flawlessly.
By the way, do you recommend to end an IF flight by closing the sim?
I did 3 flights in a row yesterday without ending FSX. When the 4th flight was loaded, the sim crashed.
My feeling was that the 3rd flight was already a little bumby and slow on the FPS side, so I assume my RAM was nearly filled up. So it might be better to boot up FSX freshly for every new flight?

...I always end the sim and restart fresh for a new flight. However IF is designed to pick up a running FSX or start it fresh

- it is most likely an addon plane makes FSX grind to a halt since many are not properly programmed - think "FSX still makes sounds when paused or minimized"...

That´s true. I´ll do it like that from now on.
If only FSX would start a little quicker...
One more question:
Is it possible to delete a saved position of an airplane?

Hi Michael,

You can get away with many flights in one session but there may be a problem with memory or addons that accumulates and crashes FSX - depends. Keep out of the FSX menus as much as possible if you have Win7(64), although I put the UIAutomationCore.dll file into the FSX program directory and that seems to have helped CTD's when in the FSX menus a lot.

You can remove parked aircraft in the profile section - select the plane and delete with the little button on the right of the aircraft name box.

I use it for every single GA flight I do, and since I've done GA flying exclusively lately, I use it every day.

...well, I used the Baron58 almost all the testing, plus I also used the default 737 a lot too.
