I don't have a free axis to adjust a prop lever...I just use the mouse on the 2D throttle panel to disengage the fuel cut-off similar to the Mustang.

Interesting topic as I am having some related issues, although not entirely the same. I have seen this same behavior at times where some items of a given aircraft do not initialize properly unless a default aircraft is first loaded. In most cases it isn't an issue, but in some there are weird things that come up.

Currently I have a small problem with the new Qualitywings RJ in that if I load directly to a flight with this bird in the flight plan I am unable to get either GEN4 to come online, or get the TCAS to report. If I load the flight with the default Cessna and then switch to the RJ it seems to work. Odd indeed.

I have reported this over at the Qualitywings forum as well, but so far it remains unresolved. It seems to be more of an issue with the bird itself, but I thought it worth mentioning given this topic of discussion.

Hi Aaron,

In general I would think this could be down to contrlols or switches issues.
Once up and running with IF going, have you tried the "Save Aircraft Settings" menu item in-sim?

Hi Steve,

Are you saying to load up things in FSX without IF initially (presumably so that things initialize in the aircraft correctly) and then select the "Save Aircraft Settings" in-sim?

...yes, it is worth a try this method creates a .FLT with all the aircraft views, panels, and switches the way you have them set. IF uses this as the template and applies it to current flight and saved flight.

So I learned something interesting on my last flight. I am using a variety of Saitek hardware including the yolk and throttle, rudder peddles, switch panel, radio panel, trim wheel, etc. In past flights I have been flipping the bat and alt switches on the Saitek panel and then repeating this operation on the VC of the aircraft. This seemingly worked ok, but on my last flight I tried something a bit different.

After loading my flight via Ideal Flight I threw the bat, alt and avionics switches on my Saitek panel. I then hit the button I assigned for "reload aircraft" and let it reload. I then went through the normal start procedures using the VC in the aircraft itself and voila, Gen 4 fired up for me. Additionally the TCAS seemed to work fine as well.

So, assuming this will work in all of my following flights perhaps there is a connection between the Saitek panel and how the aircraft initializes when the switches are not active on aircraft load. A bit odd, but such is FSX.

I think you have it, the planes initialise with different sequences and probably make subtle differences to the chain of events during the statup. Thanks for sharing that!
