So I learned something interesting on my last flight. I am using a variety of Saitek hardware including the yolk and throttle, rudder peddles, switch panel, radio panel, trim wheel, etc. In past flights I have been flipping the bat and alt switches on the Saitek panel and then repeating this operation on the VC of the aircraft. This seemingly worked ok, but on my last flight I tried something a bit different.
After loading my flight via Ideal Flight I threw the bat, alt and avionics switches on my Saitek panel. I then hit the button I assigned for "reload aircraft" and let it reload. I then went through the normal start procedures using the VC in the aircraft itself and voila, Gen 4 fired up for me. Additionally the TCAS seemed to work fine as well.
So, assuming this will work in all of my following flights perhaps there is a connection between the Saitek panel and how the aircraft initializes when the switches are not active on aircraft load. A bit odd, but such is FSX.
