If you don't get this without jitter, something else is wrong...somewhere...

My shot, all fog, no jitter default FSX+IF. Ken's shot is with REX, and a great deal of addons.

again, super shots but that doesn't help me.. what do i need to do to get rid of this effect? I have tried reinstalling, it makes no difference.. stock textures, it still happens. If I use ASE or REX weather or FSX weather, it doesn't happen..

Have you gone back to all default FSX textures, turn off Thermal and ridge?
Give that a go, no reason for anything to be any different to REX or ASE then...or have you tried that?

I just found out that I only see this effect from above.
If I am, for example, level with or just slightly above (+500ft) the fog layer, it does not jitter, it acts normally.
Does this help?

Can you move your plane, in the map, to another location say 60 miles away and can you have a look?
If you change the aircraft does the view change?
Is the scenery default? - moved to terrain with no mesh or texture addons?
Tried thermal and ridge off a checkbox to uncheck in IF weather?
Something will crop up to give us a clue...

Ok, new test...
Started flight with IF weather and thermal and ridge off.
Used Map option in FSX to move position and altitude to 8000ft.
I could clearly see the jittering happening.

Used Map option to move to 1000ft.
No jittering, perfectly smooth ground fog drifting across the terrain.

Flew to 2000ft.
No jittering, fog starts to fade away (beautiful)

Flew to 3000ft
Jittering started in distant ground fog areas.

I will now do a test flight and report back tomorrow.
Thanks for your help for now and talk soon,

I can confirm that I am only seeing a problem with this ground fog texture from higher up.
All the other clouds are fine, just this ground fog that intersects the terrain is causing a problem...

Amazing flight...
Beautiful weather... really impressive.
Jittery cloud problem was visible from 2000ft+ up to my cruise level of 18'000ft.
See screenshots below... breathtaking in original size...

Look forward to hearing from you soon.
