TraceMask=0 not working

Postby Jeremey » Thu Dec 09, 2021 3:24 am

Hey Steve,

With the release of P3D v5.3, I decided to start from scratch and reinstalled Windows (I'm working on another post about AffinityMask, and want to test/share some things) I'm trying to run some baseline tests before installing addons and sceneries, but I don't believe I am getting the log out like I think I am supposed to with TraceMask=0:
Code: Select all
Item #
1
2
3
4
5
6
7
8

my settings.ini Measurement section:
Code: Select all
[Measurement]
AircraftSizeVeryLarge=300000
AircraftSizeLarge=200000
AircraftSizeMedium=50000
AircraftSizeSmall=20000
AircraftSizeVerySmall=5000
StartSpeed=30
StopSpeed=30
NearGroundDistance=300
ShutThrottleHeight=15
FlightCsvLog=True
RestartCsvLog=True
FrameRateLog=True
DataSeparatingComma=False
CPULog=True
TraceWait=0
TraceMask=0
TraceGraphWidth=800
TraceGraphLimitLowEnabled=True
TraceGraphLimitHighEnabled=True
TraceGraphLimitLow=0
TraceGraphLimitHigh=0
LogCsvMaxCore=True
LogCsvCoreNumber=0
PushbackLimitMeters=200

In order to get the measurements I am looking for I have to do:

TraceMask=0000000000000000000000000000001111111

And, is VAS only for FSX? I am using Prepar3d V5.3, is there a way to get the VRAM usage?

TraceMask=... should contain all the 0 and 1 digits for the traces made in the graphs.

The affinity settings are subject to changes for P3D v5.3 conming out shortly after Christmas.

On the Records page, please use the menu items to configure which items you want to record in the trace -this sets up the one's and zero's in the mask.

Generally, we might only enable five or less items for traces since we can only graph up to 5 traces at a time in Ideal Flight's graphing tool.

However, we can choose five or less items from any number recorded before making a graph in Ideal Flight. We can also use the trace file in a spreadsheet app like Excel and choose from any items recorded.

Example setting up for a frame rate performance trace:

1/ On the Flight Generator page, uncheck "Default Warm Cockpit" and go into Cold and Dark items and uncheck "Paused. Pause".

2/ On the Settings page set up a pause time of 1m30s and enable with the checkbox provided.

3/ On the Records page menu "Sim Data Recording" choose to enable all the options.

4/ On the Records page menu "Sim Data Recording" choose Data Separating Commas as the delimiter for US/UK numbers.

5/ On the Records page menu "Data Recording Values" choose "Frame Rate", "Delta fps", "Average fps", "Quality rating", "Core#" (or "LP#" with HT enabled).

6/ On the Records page menu "Data Recording Delay" choose 30 seconds (or zero if we want to include startup traces).

7/ On the Records page menu "Track Core Number (LP)" - choose 0 (or the main core/LP you want to watch).

When we go back to the main page we can see a red wave graph drawn over the Records File icon.

Now we can start a flight and if we chose the 30 second delay the first 30 seconds will be ignored and the sim will pause after 1m30s. We can then exit the sim and we are presented with the choice to show the graph.
