"2.0 is not a valid integer value"

Postby TylerK93 » Thu Mar 05, 2020 10:29 pm

Hi there,

I am using Ideal Flight 10.027F08 and trying to load a flight from KLAX to PHNL using an Airbus A330-200 in Air France livery. When I try to load the flight, I get an error saying "2.0 is not a valid integer value" right after clicking OK to start the simulator. Aircraft.cfg can be found here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/hkjbr7t9pupnq ... t.cfg?dl=0
The plane I am using can be found here: https://www.rikoooo.com/downloads/viewd ... /6/799#_=_
The simulator does not even load. Windows 10 Insider, build 19040.1. Core I7-10065 @ 1.50 gHz (4 cores, HT), 20 GB RAM. Please advise.

It's more likely something to do with the voice callouts, something I missed. Can you disable that and retest?

"The Voice," as we like to call it, has been disabled and it still gives me the error. -TR

OK. probably not the voice. I'll need some help. So what about another flight build or profile used? What about if you reader is temporarily disabled when you start the flight? You can hit Enter twice at the IF window to start a flight.

OK I found it. It is with the reader present when the flight starts and depends on what might be set up for it.

I can fix that in a moment.

Seems to be a good find...it is to do with the type of flaps in the cfg it shows flaps as

[Flaps.0]
type=2.0

where in a cfg they would normally be just 2 an integer.

Even so the SImulator accepts a decimal value in place of integers and so does IF, just not in the new flaps code that is under test.

I don't know if that's actually going to cause an issue with the plane, probably not.

You could edit the flaps.0 and flaps.1 type to show integers or wait for the update - should be tomorrow.

OK. That's now fixed in the next update.

Thanks for sending the cfg file.

You're most welcome. It's also worth noting that whenever that sort of error occurs, any items in the pop-up menu do not work as they should. It's almost as if the application is left in an inconsistent state that can only be fixed by closing and reopening it.

Yes it will be, the error is not expected, you would have to start IF again with those work-in-progress things.

Remember this is a live situation where I am rushing it out and you must expect errors and omissions. It's the only way to get you the new features in a hurry.

...on the other hand, another program might ignore the number and not report it. Or possibly act like the sim when it encounters an error when it just disappears off the screen with no report. Often those problems can allow IF to continue, but starting the flight the program does a lot of external things and can't be back tracked so would need a restart. It's all in a day's work with software development.

The next update contains the new form to move the plane. It only does that much so far. Should be uploading later.
