Ideal Flight and the quelling of traffic

Postby Orinks » Sun Dec 29, 2019 2:59 am

Hi Steve and all,

While I love IF for quelling traffic that's unnecessary, I also have Traffic Global, and I toned down the IF aircraft AI selection to 0 because of it.

Is there a way to prevent IF from quelling so much of the traffic that Traffic Global creates? I get that IF does it for performance and performance has increased certainly, but I'd still be curious to know.

Thanks.

IF removes AI traffic that you don't get to see that won't cross your path. To stop that; on the AI selection page near the top - disable Full AI Optimisation.

IF AI traffic inserts a couple of aircraft into your schedule because regular schedules won't necessarily give you traffic at your flight times or places. So it is designed to augment an AI package. IF can fill the airports and will place UPS in a UPS slot and so on with other parking codes. The AI traffic will contact ATC and continue until you can't see it.

I suggest since you often keep mentioning crashes, which IF can't cause, you should discuss this with the AI package designer. Remember you can get crashes with certain aircraft in P3D used as AI including the connie.

I should have mentioned that Ideal Flight doesn't actually remove AI traffic, that's all still under control of the simulator. They are marked for deletion as outside of the usable area surrounding the player.
