IFPro CPU Window core counts and HT

Postby Steve Waite » Tue Oct 29, 2019 10:21 am

Presently, with systems up to 6 cores with Hyperthreading enabled, we see Logical processor count and Physical core counts displayed correctly in the IFPro CPU window. We see a table for each and the true values of throughput for the HT Mode.

However, development on these features is in progress.

For the time being in IF, with 8 and more cores, all HT LPs are displayed as physical cores in the IFPro CPU Window.

Note:
With certain systems the automatic calculation for Ideal Flight LPs might only show one LP. In these cases we can make two LPs in Config.ini which handles the in sim mode more favourably. Remember to direct add-on activity away from the primary sim cores with the use of their AM or by starting from a batch file.

The current update has a problem making certain settings from the CPU Window menus.

In the next update coming shortly, I've fixed up the menu and incorporated vsync, tb and fps lock settings for convenience when testing P3D.

Another aspect under construction is the csv file settings and the max core item. this is being made adjustable between the max core and the first used core of the sim.

The latest builds do now show up to 32 LPs.

The settings not working properly in the menu can be edited in the Config.ini in the meantime.

Update coming shortly.

Preview 07 is available (accessibility phase 2, general) which improves the CPU window a bit. The CPU monitor functions are under construction. I'm continuing main focus on accessibility but I will be giving time to the CPU gauge and CPU window. I'm extending the gauge to view one LP or core.

...the current previews 06 and 07 show incorrect fps averaging which was subjected to a variance call by mistake. Fixed in 08.
