Postby nikaslan » Mon Mar 25, 2019 1:17 pm

Hi Steve,

I keep getting the following error when trying to generate flights"

"Exception, Write Briefing: Check Destination"

What may be the problem?

Can you send me that aircraft.cfg I couldn't make it go wrong with the missing zeros after the decimal period.

Perhaps that might have something to do with this error?

In the log it says check destination. Can you try to another destination - does that work with it?

I have already attached the aircraft.cfg on the other thread named "cannot read aircraft .cfg file".

As for this error, I thought it may refer to the briefing file destination (path) and not to the flight plan destination. It seems to be irrelevant with the other one, as this one happens with any plane to any destination.

Never mind for this one, I reinstalled IF10 and now works as expected.

I got the aircraft file, sorry about not noticing it I think it must have been scrolled up off screen. Is that the original unedited file?

For the destination: The log shows that IF had an error reading a part of an airport file and so that component was missed from the briefing.

Re-installing IF resets basically some overall settings. There might be an option chosen that extracts data missing from the airport.

Things that can cause failure to make a component of the briefing like that are perhaps forgetting to unset Auto-Activate add-on scenery can mean it wasn't found in the index.

Yes, it's the original unedited file.

After I reinstalled and restored from backup, when I changed the plane it happened again. So I just made a clean reinstall without restore and so far all seems ok. The truth is I had messed with a lot of settings, maybe something caused some kind of conflict.

It will probably happen again. There could be some data that IF can't read in there. See if there are any updates for the scenery. If the install of IF cleared it then that suggests that you can set that option again in future. In the failed section IF extracts extra data than usual for the map. If the data is not formatted correctly you get the message in the log.

There is a possibility that IF can't read something because I've messed around with it.

But it's working OK with 25,000 other airports and countless scenery packs. It could be that IF has highlighted an error in that scenery. Have a look at the Index log (on the start page popup menu or explorer-notepad).
