Edit flight plan

Postby reecemj » Mon Apr 17, 2017 5:58 pm

When I edit Cruise Altitude and Plan Item it has to be done 1 at a time. Edit one, close then back in to edit the other. Can it all be done at the same time? Thanks

I will check that out and get back to you. You should be able to type over the altitude with one you desire, and also you should be able to add edit or remove any other waypoints except the departure and arrival. Then Ok to it in one go.

Hi Steve! Hope all is well. Just checking to see if editing the flight plan has been looked at. Also is there a way
to mark airports one has already been to? If not this would be a nice feature for me. IF could show I have been at this airport already. Thanks.

Sorry I totally forgot to come back on this.

After making a flight and you want to alter the cruise altitude of that specific plan; go to the Flight Generation page, press the Edit Plan button, click OK on the departure runway, click OK on the Destination runway, type over the altitude value near the top of the route, example:

Cruise Altitude: 5000

to

Cruise Altitude: 9000

Also you can edit the waypoints or delete some as you wish.

After that click OK and the route will rebuild the same but according to your new altitude value and link up the new waypoints. It's really intended for only minor alterations.

For making plans along specific waypoints of my choosing I would use a manual planner like PFPX to alter the IF10 route as it is or maybe create a complete custom route from scratch, then output as a plan type that IF10 can read, the flight can be regenerated loading that custom plan or dropping it on IF10 to initiate loading and building that plan.

Regarding places the profile has visited: On the main map page, look at the row of small buttons at the top right corner. 'Show routes' places lines between each pair of locations you traveled. Maybe showing perhaps simply the location dots on the map and providing a text based record might be helpful - i'll have a think about it, Thanks for the suggestion.

Am flying GA in the UK right now using airport subset. There could be a box to check that says search all airports or only airports you have not been to. And on the flight generator page in Destination Airport there could be a star by the airports one has been to.

Locations the profile has visited are already stored and can be shown as completed routes on the main map. I've added the function to display just the locations visited on the map without the interconnecting route lines seems a bit more fun. By the way, the world map in IF10 is intended only for roughly locating where we are on the globe as an off-line option with very low resource requirements. I'm having a look to see if we can filter on the non-visited airports per profile, a problem is that these are not an attribute of the scenery, but rather an attribute of the profile. On an aged profile with possibly thousands of routes, lists start to get large making changing between profiles and other functions too time consuming to do on the fly.

...I'm adding a function to create the subsets of visited and non-visited airports. At least we can load those into the Flight Gen page to reduce the searchable airports before choosing to build a flight. :D

The Profile Page menu now has a function to create or refresh subsets containing 'Visited' and 'Unvisited' airports, we can load a subset before we make our next airport search.

When accepting a flight record after a successful flight, and with the visited or unvisited airport subset loaded, the 'visited' airport (where we departed from) is automatically updated in those files, and also the search system is updated.

If we select another profile to create new flights, we have to refresh those files with the menu item.

Thanks for the suggestion - seems a nice little addition. Be a long time visiting all 24500 airports though... :D
